Don't look in Minnesota, Marv. I'm coming up on a year, I have a neighbor that's well into his second year. The woman I live with has been off for six months and most of the people we worked with are still looking for jobs. Even consulting is drying up. But, hey, let's throw a few more billion into the defence budget.

for the poem thingy. Do we get to trash Briget Jones now? I shall look into the parachute whatsit - sounds intreiguing - but if it tells me I should be a diplomat, likke all the other biweekly school 'choose your carrer' personality tests did, I shall come running crying.
This week is a bad week. My students have to register for their exam. It's allright for them to moan about the stress - they only have one person to get through the test, and at least they have some control. I am never teaching an exam class again. Let alone three.
Plus I haven't done my Russian homework and the teacher will Look at me...

Sdiver, NZ looks wonderful, but is a long way from anywhere. Which was the reason given on a travel programme as to why so many Kiwis travel so extensively. I would love to go there for an extended holiday.
Got on the scales this morning, it wasn't a good idea

*realizes he's been spotted*
*stops sneaking, sits down by Sdiver's feet and tries to look cute and innocent*¤o¤
*puckers his lips and tries to but doesn't know how to*
*the failed attempt only adds to the 'cute and innocent' impression*

FG, I'm not 'that' kind of brother thank goodness
I have thought about doing outside stuff but then it comes down to a deciding what I want to do when I'm a grown up kind of descision. Something I've been putting off for a long time

Happy belated B-day, FG.
I went to see my parents yesterday. They have been dieting for a while now, and I had a sneeking feeling that they were overdoing it. And I was right. After interogating them thorougly, I found that they were living on less than 1000 calories a day! And way too little vitamins. Mom was showing clear signs of calsium deprivition, (having prickling feeling round her mouth and in her fingertips.)
Seems like I have to keep an eye on those two from here on...

Crash dieting not a good idea, says the slowly expanding Munchkin.
I started putting some stuff in boxes for my move. I need a lot more boxes. Where did all that rubbish come from?

Munch, the Big Yellow Storage company on Slyfields industrial 'park' sell boxes.
Grown up decisions, oh dear the one or two I have made where not good ones. The ones that are happenstance seem to work out better, must be back to gut feeling and instinct again.
Ben, how about getting your rings redesigned? I took mine to a local artisan jeweller and the two were combined to make one. I was involved in the whole design process and now have one beautiful ring that I wear regularly and is worth 5 times as much as when it was two seperate rings. However I have to say it wasn't cheap, but tehy were more than happy to discuss ideas and estimates before the process began.

Good morning y'all!
sDiver, don't move to Miami. A working knowledge of Spanish is required there.
My brother has never been in jail, but he is not trustowrthy because everything in the world comes second to drinking, and if he needs to exchange family property for cash, he will do so. I only found this out in the past six months.

I once worked with a man....back in the ice age.....whose elderly parents were both alcoholics. I felt so sorry for him. Unfortunately, I saw them in action one time. Until then I'd always thought of alcoholics as being young or middle aged. Maybe most of them die before they get that old.
My dad's younger brother was an alcoholic who was in and out of prison for years. He used to steal from the family, usually by taking checks and then forging one of his brother's names. They covered for him until my grandmother died. Then they warned him what would happen if he pulled it again - he did - and they turned him in.
My uncle was a wonderful musician. He played with Red Foley and some other country groups that none of you are probably old enough to remember. But he couldn't stay away from the booze. He was murdered on the street in a sleazy Kansas City neighborhood about 15 years ago. The police thought he was a mugging victim, but we never found out for sure what happened.
Now, wasn't that cheery?
Sorry I spelled your name wrong sDiver.
