Sadly, nothing happens until the last section, by which time you're ready to scream.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Feb 24, 2003
After a wonderfully apropos post 42 from FG, I agree that it's time for the first list. I am giving the title and author, followed by the post number in this thread where the book was either nominated or described. The nominees are as follows:
Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome -- post 2 & 7
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll -- post 3
Armor by John Steakley -- post 3 & 6
The Outpost by Mike Resnick -- post 8
The Last English King by Julian Rathbone -- post 10
Silverlock by John Myers Myers -- post 11
Chess With a Dragon by David Gerrold -- post 19
Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin -- post 23
The Road to Nab End by William Woodruff -- post 24
Ex Libris by Ross King -- post 34.
Please vote, no chat. Even if you indicated a vote in the previous part of this thread, votes are from this post onward.

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Feb 24, 2003
Since we're not allowed to vote for the book we suggested I'd like to vote for The Last English King by Julian Rathbone.

I formally cast my vote for 'Silverlock' by John Myers Myers.
P.S. Why don't we have a (with a life-preserver) smiley?

Since I can't vote for my own selection, and I've read most of the others, I cast a vote for The Last English King.

I have been meaning to read The Last English King ever since No1 son recommended, so it gets my vote too.

I'm in for "Three Men In A Boat"
*hopes Chess With a Dragon will at least get a sympathy vote*

Chess with a dragon.
(There's your sympathy vote, Mac. I wanted to vote for the Last English King, but our library doesn't have that book and I'm trying to curb my book buying habits.)
(Oh, and I'm about 1/3 of the way through Ex Libris and it is great!)
