It was -10°F last night and this morning. When I went out to start my car, the snot in my nose froze.

I remember being a kid and that being the sign that it was too cold to play outside...
Can I just go on record and say that trying to write a paper connecting Louis IX (St. Louis), Philip IV (the Fair) and Owen Glendower is completely insane as a paper topic?! I am pulling my hair out!
Does anyone KNOW any"local color" (stories, myths) about Glendower?!

Decided I'd better open up after all. But I'm closing at 5 so everyone can get home before the streets glaze over again.
This morning's paper said this was our 4th snowiest winter on record....and it's just February. Our average snowfall for the winter is 15 inches. So far we've had 37 inches. Our snowiest winter was in 1911-12 when we had 57.5 inches.
Just wondering how cold it has to get before snot will actually freeze? And what kind of ant is Amy? Hope she's not a South American fire ant. Because if so, I'm afraid I've done away with a number of her cousins.

Nasty critters, fire ants. So glad I haven't made friends with one. That's one reason I was happy to leave Texas. We're too far north for them...at least temporarily. Kind of makes me appreciate Old Man Winter a little more.

WM, I googled Owen Glendower, but I expect you have already done that.
Came across this though:

There are few links there that might lead you on further.

Hypatia, it's been my experience that anything 5° and below will cause this phenomenom. Not only that, but it hurts to breathe--you get that frigid air down your throat and up your sinuses and they sting.

Hasn't really got above 30 yet over here.
There have apparently been problems with Yahoo lists -- they keep disappearing! The digital fineart list has vanished, as well, I hear, as some HP lists. And another list I was on suddenly developed a severe case of porn spam, with innocuous subject headers and grossly large attachments.

oh, my, porn spam. I usually get one a day. Lately, I've been getting one in my regular inbox that says invalid_ address @ sytax. error. Which, when I try to mark it as spam, doesn't let me. Nor does it let me delete it without opening it first. Is this some new way the spammers get around blocks and bulk mail?!

As we all know Hotmail are terrible for porn spam, but my yahoo accounts have been alright so far.
*off to check yahoo*

I dumped my hotmail accounts about 6 months ago, the spam exceded the usable posts.
Now the number is creeping up in my Yahoo account.
Time for yet another new account
