Do any of you get the porn spam that automatically takes you to a web site? And it happens so fast that you can't delete it before it happens. Then the web site absolutely refuses to close. And the subject matter is really disgusting. Not just a little t&a. So, I have to shut down and reboot. It's one of the ones I get in Korean.
Thanks FG. Everyone should know at what temperature snot freezes...especially a librarian. Now I'm prepared if anyone asks.

Wha? Texas? You don't talk to a person in a month and they get up and move on ya. Is this for her job? Argh. Now I'll be thinking about this all night.
I get so sick of mailing lists that I stop reading everything that comes in from them. And then, of course, when I do finally get around to reading something I end up on the ass-end of a debate or such which leaves me to think very poorly of the people who's replies I'm reading. And then of course I never post my thoughts on the matter as I don't feel it any of my business. Still, Lil, I agree with most of your reply to that certain someone. There is a certain attitude there that I don't believe is beneficial to the group and I frankly don't care for the continuous tone they use.

Gw7en hasn't been in Utah all that long, has she?
Hypatia, you should change your e-mail software or make sure you have the most up-to-date version of whatever you are using. It should never take you to a site automatically. If you are using web-based mail you should consider getting Mozilla/Netscape 7, because it lets you both block pop-ups and other selective javascript actions.

Hypathia - when you get pop ups like that you can hit the Alt+F4 key repeatidly .... that will close the windows before they can spawn a new window .... works for me.

Looks like I dropped a bombshell...
G7 is moving to texas to take a position that her job offered. She works for the same outsourcing company that I do, and they are transferring her to be a team leader for her account. I hope that it works out for her, but I am very sad to see her go.
She has been in SLC for about 9 months or so.
I will try to see if she can get online soon to let you all know.

Speaking of snow... We are getting a little snow tonight, and there may be some accumulation by tomorrow morning ...

Thank you all for the good wishes.
for Amy - it was a lovely tour. Now if I only knew what is bay window...
Snow is fun but boring. Sometimes I wish that the snow had different colors. Like the sun in "In Watermelon Sugar"... Well, it has colors - today it's very grey for example, but this is not what I meant.
There was something else I wanted to say... As usual...

Yep, and golden and pink in the morning and so on. But never really green or terrakota or purple - just shades or spots.

A bay window is one that sticks out from the front of the building usually by virtue of being half a hexagon in cross section (although sometimes half a circle or three sides of a rectangle). But since my window is on the first floor, it should more properly be called an oriel window.

A bay window consists of several vertical frames set at a shallow angle in an arc. The net effect is a semi-circle area that protrudes from the building. This makes a nice spot for a chair, as the light comes in around 180ยบ. _____

G7 in Texas? If she keeps this rate of movement south up she'll be in Brazil before we know it.

Bay windows are lovely. Rented an appartment that had one once, long time ago... *thinking back on fond memories*
At this time of the year I miss green. My eyes are literally hungry for GREEN, any shade of green! I took a few twigs from the cherry-trees in and put them in water, just to see if I can make them spring out a little early.
The trees needs serious pruning, but I haven't done it before, so I'm afraid to go ahead with it. Does anyone know a good site about fruit-tree tending? I have a book about gardening that says a little about it, but nothing in detail.
