Yep, tootled past the Hogs Back Brewery in the B with the top down. Considering it is February I wasn't cold and really quite enjoyed it. Steam trains are HUGE and I got to feel like a kid, gazing up at all the iron work and steam. Some lovely views from the line too, I must see what my photos look like.

Passes some over to Amy's tip box. A very nice tour you do Amy. Thought of a sideline as a tourguide
The weekend was fun and yes Cornwall is a long way to get to, fall off the end of the M5 and then keep going along the A30. We stopped overnight near Taunton and the soon after setting off from there stopped to get some cider for MC at one of the larger cider makers in the area - they have a museum and shop there. It was choices, choices, choices, after tasing a few some were bought and on we went.
We did make it to the beach and there were a couple of people out body boarding .
Oh and the wedding and party were good too
Hurrah for Hati
The encouragement sounds good even if you can't get too good scans from the large format stuff Lil.

I took the sons there when they were little to see Thomas the Tank Engine. We took a picnic lunch and had a wonderful day, a lovely place for children of all ages
The Bluebell Line is at it's prettiest when the bluebells are out and the one at Tenterden is worth a visit too. But I 'spect you are running out of time before your move.

Do you remember me telling you all about how somebody had, with great care, cut out the man from the road sign symbolizing a pedestrians' crossing? Here's the photographic evidence, taken one morning on my way to w*rk:

I would also like to know how a funeral parlor ended up at the bottom of an ant hill.
I refuse to buy plastic sheeting and duct tape. I see it as the equivalent of ducking underneath a desk during nuclear attack. What good would it really do? I think it only serves to let people think they are doing something to protect themselves, and it doesn't matter if it is ineffective.

Yep, and pretty thick metal too - you can't bend a Swedish road sign, unless you crash into it with something heavy... what really astonished me was how carefully it had been cut out - I noticed the edges look a bit uneven in the format I uploaded - try enlarging the picture slightly to see the smooth edges...

Heh, that's cool, T! I wonder how, and why whoever did it?
I went and had my hair cut today. My hair is now only shoulder-length instead of more than halfway down my back. It feels ok, and I'm almost sure I won't regret it...

Morning all. *waves cheerily* It's currently 8º F with 8 inches of snow. The snow plow went down my street last night and completely blocked my driveway.
So....I'm closing the library and staying home.
Course, I'll have to go in later today and make sure the steps are cleared for tomorrow. The city is semi-dependable. Year before last we had an 18 inch snowfall and the city scraped all the snow off of my parking lot and dumped it in the driveway! The pile was nearly 12 feet tall! Then the drove around to the other street and ran the snow plow the wrong direction and blocked the other drive. And they cleaned my steps out front but didn't clean the walk. I threw such a fit that they've been much better ever since. The guy who drives the snow plow still won't stay in the same room with me.
My great nephew (nearly 5)loves Thomas the Tank He's a train fanatic. I'm always looking for train rides for him. We have a streetcar in our park and he loves that, but it doesn't go far enough to suit him.

B4, the library in Columbia went into temporary quarters for 3 years. And I'm whining about needing someplace for one year. And yes, they did a wonderful job with their space. You should have seen it before. They were so crowded they were thinking of hanging things from the ceilings.

That is so T. Although I shouldn't condone such behaviour as I seemed to spend a lot of time trying to convince the sons that their bedrooms were not the place for road signs, green flags (from golf courses) or hazard lights from skips etc in their slightly younger days.
Bee, that must have taken quite a lot of courage and I'm sure you'll find shorter hair less time consuming. Although I still seem to spend at least 20 mins trying to make my 'easy care' style presentable
Lil, it would be good to see your range of designs, if you get time to upload them.

That looks so good T. Perhaps you should take the sign down and sell it as a work of art
Thomas the Tank engine is great. I used to love going to the library when I was little and borrowing the books - they used to be of a lovely small size just for little ones.

I must make an appointment at the hairdressers.
d'Elaphant, not all ants live in anthills. Only the... um... rustic ones. A lot of us live in houses kindly provided by human beings.

Ants living in houses... I remember a spring in the south of Switzerland when it rained night and day non-stop for 2 weeks - the level of the lake rose and rose, and a lot of ants decided it was high time to move into houses...
...we didn't mind them too much when we found them in the living room, marching along the edge of the wall panel and in behind a book shelf (we didn't bother to find out what they were doing behind the shelf) - but we really felt we had had enough one morning when dozens of small black ants came pouring out of the electric socket and down on the bathroom floor... ...and the next day I was fixing lunch and found some ants in the fridge - I'm afraid I went berserk... so sorry, Amy...
...I hope they weren't relatives of yours...

The Real Ale Train sounds right up the menfolk's street.

I see the next one is on March 15th. I expect they get booked up well in advance though. Isn't there are a rather good brewery in Alton, where the line starts?

Whoops, we're into four figures. Better think about the next thread...
Ti, I love that noman walking sign. Creative vandalism!
A cold dank morning, 30° and it feels like snow.
