I went to see Star Trek Nemesis Friday night. Very evil thing for them to do, the end of the movie...

Don't you dare say!!
On the cinema front, I saw The Quiet American last night. Very good indeed. Both Michael Caine and Brendan Fraser were excellent and you don't often see people tackling the Vietnam of the fifties.

Oooh, Hati, be careful with that pneumonia. I've been there.
Hypatia, glad to know Frank's condition is improving!

I only just read Coely's good article, and it's interesting (to me) that last night I instinctively chose to eat some leftover (heavily garlicked) chicken curry rather than the eggs bacon and toast my brother offered to cook for me.

Bloody hell... I finally get my new desk put together and arranged and plug in my much loved Canon LBP 465 laser printer. I then find out that Canon does not support Windows 2000

That is some kind of infection. The load of medicine I am taking daily doesn't leave much space for food.

Life is good. No, better than good. It's fantastic.
Yes, the end of Nemesis was rotten, but I really liked it. Not the end so much, the whole thing. Tom Hardy is great, and the resemblence is scarily good. And it's nice to see that finally they got a sense of humor!

I know you beat this to death a few pages back, but I think the whole idea of the EU is fascinating. Given Europe's long history of warfare and strife who would have guessed that someday the continent would be united? I predict that sometime, long in the future, all the continents will be united thusly.
On the same subject, how do those of you in the EU feel about Bush's pressure to admit Turkey?

Don't get too impressed with my cooking, FG - all it took was frying some chicken filets in some olive oil (I use olive oil for most things) together with sliced yellow paprika, adding a can of coconut milk and this powdered stuff from a bag (free sample that arrived together with travel magazine) - served with egg noodles, or yasmine rice, or whatever you feel like...
...I think the red curry I tried yesterday was more spicy than the green curry I tried today - the green one didn't make me sweat...
Be sure to take care of yourself Hati - pneumonia is to be taken very seriously...

I'm impressed with anyone who can cook. It's a lost art in some places and it's such a wonderful thing to do, for yourself and others. I think it's an expression of friendship, caring and .

Yes, and what does it say when you burn the food?

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Dec 16, 2002
Hmmmm... that would depend on whether you burnt the food by accident or on purpose, wouldn't it?

You know, something I actually miss at this time of the year (never thought I would miss it!) is Loony gloating over having summer and sunshine and warmth and a in his part of the while the other Salonistas complain over cold and snow and darkness...

Might I offer a toast to absent friends?
Here is to Loony and the others who have dropped out of sight or currency. Let their lives be full and may they find there way back into our lives soon.

Only *you* would be so mean as to burn my food, Sporky!
