Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence

What is the difference between a duck?
One of its legs are both the same.

This translates perfectly into French and used to get as good a laugh when the joke was younger

Attn Moderators: this post is a translation of the joke in the previous post.

Que-ce-qu'est la difference entre un canard?
Une de les jambes sont tous le meme.

How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Fish.

Lil, I love your previous joke as well. Makes me remember my favourite french poem.

La Vie La Vie!
Beaucoup d' Parapluies!

Oh Life! What a lot of Umbrellas.

Regarding clutter, I try to make a point of making a massive cleaning every year. My motto is, if I haven't thought of it in the last year, or didn't remember I had it, I toss it.

I've cleaned out a lot of closed space over the years smiley - smiley

Help! How do you describe the sound of someone spitting in English? Ptui? And how common is the habit to spit three times if a black cat crosses your path?

*currently tearing her hair out while trying to write another episode and repeatedly throwing her dictionary against the wall, only to get up and get it again a few moments later*

Titania - hoof beats are the sounds that horses hoofs (hooves?) make either approaching or departing.

Here in Canada, route is pronounce root, but routers are rowters.

Also, if the cat is really mad, try MRRRW. But meow usually works.

Okay, enough of this sitting around waiting for school to start....I want it to start NOW! Now, now, now!

I know, I know, throwing a temper tantrum won't work. But I feel better.

All cats are 'She'
All dogs are 'He'
All veg are 'Greens'

English cats say Meow. Mind you I know of an English cat called Lily who lives in Bredang and who gets very upset if people talk in Swedish when she is around. Which gives her a spurious fondness for me. smiley - winkeye

Tough night, btw. My ex is feeling sorry for me, and is being nice...

And as I have mentioned elsewhere, I am English, and I do do understatemnt.

Did I understand Sol to say that the English have a "thin" sense of humor? I thought that was always reserved for us Americans--we're criticized (and rightly) for having no appreciation of irony or sarcasm. Or maybe "thin" has a different meaning in Russia.

My favorite Monty Python skit is the gameshow "Blackmail" with Michael Palin as the host. They show bits and pieces of pictures or home movies and the blackmail-ee is supposed to call the show within a certain amount of time or they have to pay more--the amount goes up as the clock ticks on. The address to send the money (from what I rememeber) is:

Blackmail
Men's Washroom
Behind the Third Water Tank
Victoria Station
London

I mentioned that my ex visited with his girlfriend yesterday?

Well, he realised how rough I am feeling just now, and is being super-nice. We had a long and illuminating discussion this evening. I admit I hope it left him feeling as rough as it left me.
