Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!
Happy Birthday!
Is that the literal translation?

Scandrea Posted Oct 27, 2004
I don't know why that strikes me as funny...
So, if you were saying "Merry Christmas," you would say
Alles Gute zum [Christmas]!
Language Thing-German BEGINNERS thread
katkodl Posted Oct 27, 2004
No, that would be:
Frohe Weihnachten!
Frohe Weihnacht!
Fröhliche Weihnachten!
Fröhliche Weihnacht!
Merry Christmas! (literally)

This might be daft but the question makes sense in my head...
if its a girl vampire does it change or is it still der vampir?
Language Thing-German BEGINNERS thread
katkodl Posted Nov 1, 2004
As a Buffy-fan I can tell for sure that even female vampires are called “der Vampir”.
Sie ist ein Vampir!
She’s a vampire!

Don't know about Austria, but I can't imagine anybody here would object if you talked of a "Vampirin",not even in official talk
