Ausnahmsweise, wie üblich (Consistently inconsistent) Posted Nov 28, 2003
Dozdim,
ringtones == ring tones
alot == a lot
ranging from teenagers, parents == ranging from teenagers and parents (a list of two items doesn't need a comma)
isnt == isn't | is not
crew of Yoome 2 like == crew of Yoome 2 likes
who havent even went on Yoome == who have never been on...?
werent = weren't | were not
As mentioned under the packages. == Fragment? Remove the period?
This list may not be exhaustive, but it's a start.

The only spelling mistake left is alot > a lot (that's there a few times), plus there's an apostrophe missing from 'isn't' in the Mobile Pad sentence.
Further suggestions - how about a footnote to explain what maxchat is - it's not something I've heard of before.
Being a little picky, 'pin number' is an oxymoron - PIN stands for 'Personal Identification Number' - I'd just refer to it as the PIN and change the footnote to **The four-digit Personal Identification Number given to you when you subscribe to Eurobell or Telewest

PIN number = Personal Identification Number number.
See what I mean?
It's not all that important, just one of my pet hates...
And there are several scouts subscribed to this thread already - you can tell by clicking on our names, going to our personal spaces, and seeing if we've got a badge or not.

I'm a scout, and I think you should write just PIN and have a footnote explaining it, rather than pin number, which really makes no sense. I think a sub would only change it anyway, and it's more likely to be picked if you make all the changes you can possibly make, rather than leaving them all for a sub to do.

As far as subscriptions are concerned, I'm assuming they are monthly, however I think it would be helpful if a) this was made clearer and b) there was a note saying that subscriptions were correct as at 2003.
PS: It's all well and good finding a scout - they need to have picks current before they can pick. We get two a month!

Dozdim145651 Posted Nov 29, 2003
why two?Were you picking stuff too scientific?
I still think that i could find good entrys........
well i could tell every scout then my chances are better LOL!
Well in all honesty does it really matter if i dont define the exact meaning of pin number?
Alot of people have bank accounts so i think they know what it is.....

Look. This is the BBC. We need to get things right. Saying 'PIN number' is saying the same thing twice. 'PIN' means Personal Identification Number - when you've already said PIN, why go and say 'number' again? It's unnecessary and pointless.
It's this sort of attention to detail that's absolutely necessary for being a good Scout or Sub-ed.
Sorry, you *do* define maxchat - it's just a little confusing because the definition comes after the first time you use the term.
The reason we only pick two entries a month each is that each entry we pick goes through the sub-editors to be made beautiful before it hits the front page. There are two entries hitting the front page every weekday, and a certain number of scouts and a certain number of subs. If we were to make any more picks, we'd end up with more entries in the system than it could cope with.
Incidentally, it's unlikely that a Scout will pick an entry from Peer Review unless everyone subscribed to the thread agrees that the entry's got to the point where it can no longer be improved... we operate on the basis of achieving a consensus, as long as everybody's being reasonable of course.
