For what it's worth!
Most of the active guild members are specialists, and use their skill either inside the guild (Joe as Medic etc) or on assignment, The old stucture accepted that, whereas the new stucure is too rigid. I don't think we need divisions and companies, just the ability to rise through the ranks based on activity and postings. Those currently not active should have their ranks taken (unless they state that they are going to be inactive for a while ie sabbatical)
All promotions/demotions should be put to a promotions board, and not doled out on whim.

The bottom system will work with about 80 members, having 2 Commodores, 2 Captains and a Commander under each, one Lieutenant under each of those + 1 Lieutenant Commander under each Captain, A Lieutenant under each Lieutenant Commander, aa Sublieutenant under each Lieutenant, and the rest as Midhsipman spread through those Lieutenant-led squads, in groups of 4 or 5.

The other we could probably do with 50, with one Captain and 1 Commander per Commodore, or 100, with 2 Captains per Commodore and 2 Lieutenants and a Sublieutenants to a Captain.

Improtant point to make ... this guild is a fantasy world, what we do even if the original idea is nicked from the real world DOES NOT have to relate to the real world.

-Guildmaster
-SiC
-2 Coordinators
-Everyone else is an ordinary asssassin
-You get more influence, though, if you have a bonus job, such as squad leader or medic or such. simple.

And we're still not an army.
suppose... (approximately)
we need half the Guild or more as the lowest rank-MIDSHIPMAN-36
Those should go in squads of 3-12 squads
each squad needs a LIEUTENANT-12 (sublieutenant and l. commander would specify how important a lieutenant)
2 Lieutenants to a CAPTAIN-6 (commander and commodore specify how important a captain)
a captain leads a division-2 divisions
and then 1 VICE, REAR and normal ADMIRAL -we don't need a fleet admiral unless we have more than one VICE, REAR, and normal ADMIRAL.-3
vice and rear lead companies
**--57--**-so if we do that then each squad can then get more with more members.

That would still need captains. to lead jobs.
and maybe supervisors, slightly higher assassins.
if we merged with the Thieves and Spies than we'd have 3 captains that way, 6 supervisors, then everyone else would be an Assassin/Agent. could ecven have an extra captain for the Spy Society.

Hello we have 10 active members and they have the highest ranks!
Why don't we put one person in each rank spot and just throow everyone else out of the guild! (keeping a separate roster, of course, for purposes of boasting about the number of guild members)

Maybe a few more than 10, but, you see what I mean...

fine.
I'm still doing the Activeness stuff.
makin a table-2 columns-name and a number. 0 is inactive on H2G2, 1 is Inactive in Assassin's Guild, 2 is partially active, 3 is active.

15 members active. 10 participating in the RP parts, 5 just chatting. and one of those isn't actually here. everyone else is gone.
and the list is missing people, I think.

Slow down and learn patience. Have you failed to notice that anthea hasn't been on for a few days nothing will happen till she is on.
What anthea decides is what happens, so slow down. Cos she can't d oanything till she some back on.
