h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*NYC gets blastered into a leapord cat. A 10 lb tiger. Tusk-Corrupt looks at him, bemused. NYC looks at him/her, with a confused look on his face. He then proceeds to jump on Tusk-Corrupt's face with claws outstretched*

MmmreoW! *slashity slashity*

*Tusk/Corrupt holds up his/her hands in a defensive stance, and accidentally shoots two gigantic fireballs(which merge into one super-gigantic fireball) in NYC's direction*

*The other members of B.E.T.T.E. are regrouping. Zakkry Johbsor has a few singes on his uniform, but the uniform seems to be rapidly repairing itself. The Althian Bounty Hunter is the most damaged, as he seems to be unable to move three of his many, many tentacles, but otherwise seems fine. The Robot Warrior is covered with soot from the fireballs, but seems otherwise unphased. Stephanie looks very winded from all of the dodging that she's been doing, but aside from that she seems physically okay*

*The Robot Warrior's jetpacks power up, sending him careening through the air towards Kudos. He's blasting plasma all the way*

*Zakkry Johbsor, Stephanie and the Althian Bounty Hunter remove two laser blasters each and begin shooting at Corrupt, more out of boredom than for any other reason*

[Kudos] GAH!

*Kudos drops his Blaster, which fires at him, turning him into a small green mouse before he can fully react to evading the robot. Luckily, he is now an impossibly (or at least, improbably) small target, and runs away, scurrying between the feet of NYC and Tusk/Corrupt.*

*Corrupt notices the sudden negative attention she's gathered, and after a nanosecond of not-particularly-brilliant thought, she runs toward the Althian Bounty Hunter as fast as she can, an aura of fire surrounding her.*

*The Althian Bounty Hunter, knowing his thermo-physics, leaps into the air and attempts a flying kick in Corrupt's direction. He knows what happens when a finger quickly passes through a candle's flame....*

*Corrupt stops abruptly, seeing a shape moving toward her rapidly. She looks at the arc and stands right where it appears he will land...*

*Kudos scurries over to the door and listens to what is going on in the next room, but keeps himself well hidden.*

*Instead of following through with his flying kick, the Althian Bounty Hunter revolves in the air so that his tentacles are facing Corrupt, namely the two tentacles holding the guns. At this point he is roughly a foot away. He fires the beams of condensed light energy*

*Corrupt throws a few flares from her aura, not at the Bounty Hunter, but at the guns, just as the blasts hit her and knock her over.*

*Kudos blinks in surprise as he starts to catch on to what Affy4 and Yar are up to in the other room.*

*The guns appear to be damaged, and the Althian Bounty Hunter, landing nimbly on his feet, puts them away. He pulls out another normal gun, but also a large "Gondar-Matic" water weapon. He shoots the Gondar-Matic at Corrupt, sending a torrential downpour of water at Corrupt and her aura*

*being that a ranged weapon that requires outstretched arms disadvantages someone in melee combat, NYC-cat easily grips on to Corrupt as her fireball arcs outwards him. Just as NYC-cat begins his shred-everything-to-little-meaty-bits mode, a miniscule green mouse scurries under his intended victim, only to become his new and improved intended victim. Kudos-mouse is in panic. NYC-cat releases his hold on Tusk-Corrupt's face, and soon snatches his prize.

Whom he then proceeds to bat around with obvious joy*

...outwards BEYOND him...

*Tusk-Corrupt jumps away and, as before, shoots fireballs at NYC-cat and Kudos-mouse*

*The soaked Corrupt stares up at the Bounty Hunter with angry eyes. In fact, that's not all that's angry. A mind-numbing surge of anger beams straight to the Bounty Hunter, as Corrupt starts to dry off...*

*Kudos-mouse's tail gets singed, but that's better than what can be said for NYC-cat. He uses the opportunity to scamper out of the room.*

*The Althian Bounty Hunter recoils slightly, just as the other three non-occupied members of BETTE dart forward due to the absence of the flaming halo. Zakkry begins shooting at Corrupt with his subliminal hypnotism ray, Stephanie starts kicking, and the Robot Warrior begins punching with his pile-driver fists*

*NYC-cat gets burnt to a crisp, but not before turning back into NYC. As the Binary Blaster is, everything tends to be temporary. He sees the blaster on the floor near the entrance, and meanders over to pick it up. Just then, a crash emanates from outside the bridge, and NYC decides that being outnumbered and outgunned is a joy merely to be taken in small amounts*

Hey, Corrupt!... err, Corrupts! I think the brig is open!

*another fireball comes NYC's way*

Right!

*zip*

*Tusk-Corrupt transforms back into normal Corrupt, and pursues NYC*

You mean normal Tusk, right?

...if Tusk can be called normal. Hell, if /Corrupt/ can be called... oh, never mind.

Yes, I meant normal Tusk. And he's perfectly normal for members of his species.

*Corrupt, agreeing with NYC's sentiments, sends one more general blast of rage through the area, then uses that convenient nanosecond to rush out the door.*

*The other members of BETTE pursue, as do the two mad scientists and SLR*
