The voters around here wouldn't approve funding for a tanker truck if the town was on fire. It's comforting to see that there are responsible voters in this country. Pavlov would have fun up here. Say the word "tax" and watch everyone jump up and say "no".

p.s. congratulations

Thanks everyone. This was the final piece of the puzzle. I am feeling rather smug this morning. When I took over the director's position there were so many problems with the library that I could only dream of reaching the point we are today. This tax increase, combined with our endowment, will put us on a firm financial footing for the first time in 90 years.

I think that's probably a bit ambitious, Ormy. Especially since I'd have to run against one of the most powerful members of Congress in order to get there. Besides, I've decided I'd rather be Pope.

"Besides, I've decided I'd rather be Pope."
*Chuckles* I think you'd stand a better chance of getting into Congress then achieving that one (no offence). XD;

Pope Hypatia the First...has a nice ring...hm. As long as I'm not required to go to church, I could go along with that...
Hi Lil, I didn't tell you I'm a procrastinator, did I?

I think Hyp would have a very good chance of becoming the Pope. She'd wow the voters with all her St Louis Cardinals T-shirts and baseball caps
Most importantly, we could have a meetup in the Vatican.

Congrats
Do I get this right. You have an election for increased taxes only for the library?

And as Pope, she would find a way I could attend the meet up at the Vatican without having to fly.........

I don't think the Pope can make you walk on water, Lady C.
