I'm currently thinking of being the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz.
I hope there won't be any buckets of water sitting around...
Maybe I'll be on of the flying monkeys instead!

Hi all you wonderful people, big s all around.
It is quite wonderful the way you are helping to organise the bisg bash. I am so grateful
I have a few suggestions for the cabaret, and also for the dinner.
I have sent a special invitation to Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Charles Trenet.(Thank goodness it is a virtual party so everything is possible!!!)
The theme song of the party is going to be La Mer - that most beautiful haunting song.
I am also planning on having a marvellous BBQ area where the most delicious spareribs, and rib roasts can be served.
For those who love fish there is going to be an excellent fish restaurant where Rick Stein ( a marvellous local chef who specialises in sea food) will be present to dish the fish of your choice.
For the vegetarians there is going to be an orginal restarrant inside a HUGE pumpkin. This will serve every conceivable vegetarian dish you can imagine. You only have to order and it will be done. There will be an emphasis on South African specialities and I am hoping that Wrinkled Rocker and Willem of Pillow case fame will be able to contribute to that.
If I have left out anyone's favourite please let me know.
And of course the dessert section will focus on Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate.
Incidentally the alchohol section is in the charge of Lurcher. Hopefuoly the golf will be finished by then. He is going to brew a special McLurchers for wheelchair grannies who are 75 (and all the guests) so hopefully it will be ready in time for the great day. So thrilled that Paper Baby will be making his/her hootoo debut (with Mum of course( at the birthday bash.
I am still sad about Marie Antoinette carrying her head.( big sigh.) But there, I am just very thrilled that Shea can come. As for the lissom Lady Scott. I think it will be great to have you there, scarlet swimsuit. red roses, cape, crown and all.!!!
The thought fhat has gone into the cabaret act which Zarquhon and Paul H. Smith is mindboggling. I am pleased that you have sorted out who should be who in the Blues brothers.
I thought that pheloxi might be able to play a melody on the bell of Notre Dame which he is going to be wearing. That would be a really original melody!!.
Also thrilled that the Unicorn of Meg (it is fatfree milk of human kindness so you do not need to worry my dear) Your horn sounds quite magnificent. I think that there will be a rush of virgins to cradle your head!!.
Batty , I am you are bearing yup under the strain. You have been wonderful in your help to me.
Hoorah.!!
Michele I cannot believe that you have not yet chosen your costume!!. Your ideas are so wonderful.
Caerwyn your straw costume sounds great. But be careful not to get too near the BBQ fire!!.
I have several other friends who are coming but who have not yet found this thread. So I must remind them.
I am now going to attend to real life tea parties etc.
fond to you all.

All this talk of eating is a little worrying. I think I'll stay well out of that room!
Those coming as mermaids may also have pause to think!

...hmmm... I think I might come as a "horse of a different color". A purple one maybe!
But that means that I have to wear the headpiece, and it gets so hot in those costumes

Hi Zarquhon
I was telling a friend of mine about yur remark warning me to wary of fish restaurants and it suddenly hit me what you were getting at!!. Sorry I was so dense!!. It is jolly funny and I appreciate your concern. But I must say that I am fully prepared for any fisherman who may have designs on a succulent dish of "Mermaid en croute".
Thanks for warning me!!.

Michelle, you just need a nose like mine and no horse's head is necessary! Look forward to a little neighing and cavorting with you at the party.
AR1 it all sounds wonderful! As it is a virtual party would you please also invite the General/Gladiator from the Russell Crowe film so that I can get to rub my Unicorn head against him in love and respect (and perhaps just a little bit of lust!)

Of course my dear Meg -
Anything you want. I have no idea who this splendid gentleman is, but if you give me the details I shall most certainly ask him along, so that you can practise your cavorting with him.!!!
But won't you horn get in the way, or have you refined your technique to allow for that?
Fond

Hiya AR1 and I'll be coming as a baobab tree with:
1) A squirrel family nesting in a hollow in my trunk.
2) A pair of spinetail swifts nesting in a warm and comfy cranny beneath a thick branch.
3) A colony of fruit bats sleeping underneath another warm and comfy cranny beneath another thick branch.
4) A pair of ground hornbills raising a chick in a nest in a hollow at my top.
5) A troop of baboons cavorting in my branches and eating my fruits.
6) A protective barrier of big, sharp-edged stones around my base to ward off the occasional elephant.
South-African vegetarian delicacies? I'll have to think about those!

Hi dear Willem big
Great to hear that you are coming and bringing your special friends with you. And what is more coming as a Boabab tree.
Wonderlik. I bet there will be some goings on under your branches!!.
I have already made some things for you specially. Sousboontjies, slaakuie?????(spelling)( my favourtie BBQ food) and Wrinkled Rocker has suggested that I have kerrieboontjies, potbrood and pap with tomatoes and onions for you. How about a tomato breedie? Or even,m I seem to remember that we usd to make a sort of waterlily bredie. Do you know it.?
Are you going to be coming in a special hot air balloon so that the furred and feathered friends do not suffer from being in the stratosphere? And do remember to bring some nice woolly lined nests and boxes for them so that they do not catch cold.
I am afraid that I do not know what they eat so will you please let me know. If there is anything that I cannot get here I will ask you to bring some for me.
Are you anywhere near Tzaneen? My daughter went there last weekend.
So glad that you can come
Veels geluk.
