h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Yeah, it rained a lot, but we need lots more over the next few weeks and months to make up for the tremendous deficit - the water table is very low here still and there have been a lot of wells go dry. Of course it would not do to have it all fall at once. Then it would just run off and not soak into the ground like we need for it to do.

Hey ho, I'm back from the mountains.
The tourists are out in force looking
at the brilliant colors of the leaves.
All the way from Mount Washington down
to Boston, I enjoyed spectacular reds,
oranges, and yellows on the trees near the
roadsides.

I didn't go up there to see fall foliage,
but I'm glad I got a chance to see it.

Avenging Washcloth, I take it you've
gotten lost on Pennsylvania roads, too?

Lost would be an understatement, Paul.

Twilight Zone episodes through misty portals of space and time, more like.

Pennsylvania can't be found on a map.
Don't tell Lady Scott, but it's a place that phases in and out of reality, like "Brigadoon". How else do you explain the Amish, huh?

In order to make it to the PA Meet, I would have had to drive the entire length of the state, and I didn't have a hundred years of my life to spare.

Nothing really I can say to that... but you realize of course that I'm not *originally* from Pennsylvania...

The leaves on our trees are still green and they should have started changing by now.
Something spooky is going on.

I saw Lilacs blooming in my mom's yard last in Maryland week when we were there for dad's funeral... and we have iris blooming in our yard in Pennsylvania right now...

Very odd!

But our leaves have started to change to their usual fall yukky dull yellow and brown.

I miss the beautiful fall colors of Virginia!

There, there, don't .
My tip is go paint the rooms in autumn (fall) colours.

Years ago I designed and crocheted an afghan in those colors - because of the shape of the pieces, it reminded me of a Virginia mountainside in the fall. Wonder what ever happened to that thing? Perhaps moth eaten by now, since I used wool...

Maybe it's time to design and make another...

You'll have to find some directions for me to use first! Then you need to pick out some yarn colors... and the eyes, those are always the hardest part...

Oh I know how to make spaniel's eyes.....
ask any of my ex-girlfriends(wives, mistresses, etc).

Ok ..... but I still need the crochet directions and you still need to pick out the yarn colors...
