Lady Scott

I've been working on a crocheted thread table runner for a christmas gift for a couple of months now - before my hootoo days, I feel certain it would have been done within a couple of weeks. Now I'll be lucky if it's done in time to send to the friend in Missouri for Christmas!

See what this place does to me??!!?

So there's one less crocheted thread table runner in the world. What's that compared to the new friends you've gotten? smiley - hug

You're exactly right.smiley - biggrin

I just hate to think how fire building time will be eating into my hootoo time before long....

How big are these fires you make?! smiley - yikes

Big enough to heat the whole house!!!

Ok, now that you're scared... it's more a matter of keeping the fire going all the time because if it goes out the blower on the fireplace insert will cut off, and we don't get any heat from it then. So I need to feed the fire at least once an hour... all winter long! smiley - yikes

I tried burning things in the oven, but the house kept filling with smoke.... and no one in the family wants to eat it for some weird reason. smiley - erm

Well, there's your problem right there.
If you try to burn things in the oven,
the oven senses your intentions and foils
your plan. smiley - winkeye

Of course, some people have a natural gift
for incinerating innocent food. One of my
co-workers (now retired) would put a muffin
in the toaster oven, and the rest of us
*knew* the poor muffin would a pile of reeking
black soot within the hour. smiley - sadface

This person put a muffin in the toaster oven for an hour??!!? No wonder it was incinerated! It only takes about 20 minutes to bake them fresh from batter! smiley - laugh

She was forgetful, and trying to do three
different things at once. She'd go into the
staff room, pop the muffin into the oven,
and then go elsewhere to do something else,
and forget that the muffin was heating.
smiley - yikes

We used to tease her a lot about this. smiley - laugh

And I'm sure she didn't even have the excuse that she was too busy posting on hootoo to notice that the muffin had been in there too long!

*WE* on the other hand have a perfectly valid excuse if we burn things... posting on hootoo takes top priority, you know! smiley - winkeye

I suspect this is a made up story by Paul,
everyone knows that women can do many things at the same time,
or so a woman told me.smiley - bigeyes

Of course women can do many things at one time. If we only did one thing at a time like men do, there wouldn't be anything done at all.smiley - nahnah

tacsatduck- beware the <sheep> lie

what I find is people that are really good (men and women) at doing many things at one time have a hard time finishing anyone of them....so they end up with 50 or 60 things 3/4 done and nothing ever finished
