How is this petition supposed to do any good since his honor hasn't read it?

Well, I'm never one to miss a bandwagon when one rolls past.
I hereby sign up, if only to annoy the old so-and-so. I've always called him Goshers (TMS style), and frankly I find 'Oojers' looks and sounds silly. I can't possibly get the whole name right - Oojafinkurelookinatt or whatever it is.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if he went the whole hog and went back to being Goshogoshogosh.

Yes, by all means, sign me up.
Even if "Gosho" doesn't mean much to me, it's still user-friendly and unique. Those are valuable qualities.
Oojakapiv, on the other hand, is a transparent reference to Kojak, a television detective with a bald head. I could have understood going with "Warbucks" (a bald cartoon character in "Little Orphan Annie"),
or "Yul" (Yul Brynner, a bald actor who was in "The King and I").
I'm sorry, Gosho, but I just don't think Oojakapiv really works.
Life is stressful enough, who wants more stress over a researcher's name?

It's easy enough to cut and paste his awkward bloody name. As someone else who's tried on a few different names over the years I do symapthise. Although I agree with the person who said no matter how it's spelt, it's pronounced Gosho.
I say leave him to it!

Incredibly wonderful person.
The fact that my name has been changed for days and people are only just noticing just goes to show how much you al lnormally ignore me.

I noticed yesterday, but I had a full day and a Parents' Evening, so had better things to do.

My parents are still in stunned disbelief that I managed to leave home and set up a household with a loving partner.
