Perhaps the societies are so different and age and so on - we just can meet at the point where we say it's bad and ugly.
And as I lost my virginity 17 yrs ago, maybe being virgin nowadays is different and not so valuable (just some stitches you know)

OK, if I brought up the subject of female circumcision, I suppose I'd better comment on it, too. I first encountered it way back in James Clavell's Whirlwind, which describes it at length and convincingly, from the viewpoint of a European who had never seen it before. Since then I have read Jehan Sedat's biography - she is also very active in trying to abolish this - as a moslem woman herself, from within. And there have been one or two things on television, but I am sure it is still not known enough. I think they do it to the girls at around 8, maybe 11, but at that age, who are you to argue with a couple of grown ups (whether male or female) who are going to force you into it - neither physically, nor intellectually, and you are bound by the rules of your religion to obey your elders. No wonder the sheets are bloody.
And I've had three episiotomies, and they're almost as bad, with their "one for the husband". yuk.

Of course sex kan lead to pregnancy, abortions and diseases - but that goes for everyone, not just the young.

Don't take me wrong, I have nothing against making love
It's about society again, I guess. If your friends take you as nuts, if you are 15 and still virgin, if you lie about it to be equal to the others (in the age when THE OTHERS is most important), if you somehow still believe that AIDS threatens only junkies and gays and if you want to think that you are the only one who know about sexual life and everything.
I live in country, were during last 10 yrs were found about 100 HIV positives, during this august and september were 150 of them. The number is increasing rapidly. Infected junkies in one town have decided, that government will do nothing (which is not true, it's just not doing enough), until lot of "decent people" are infected. So they walk around the streets and stick people with dirty syringe to infect them.
I have a 10yr-old daughter and I am afraid
So simple it is (or is not).

You are right, it's all about society!
AIDS is a terrible disease. But so was syfilis untill they developed the cure.
There are always diseases to be worried about. And death is a fact of life.
Don't let it bring you down, though. Don't let fear rule your life!

OK
I won't. Thank you for comforting me. Would you suggest something happier going on around here?
A friend of mine says "you always get, what you deserve, in one or the other way". Hope this goes to AIDS also, no mad junkies hanging around here right now.
Peace, Love and Understanding

Hatifnat, just to reassure you over the syringe thing: the AIDS virus is extremely fragile; once it is removed from living body cells at 37°c, it dies rapidly, and once dead it can no longer cause infection. Provided these people, sick and evil as they are, aren't using the syringes themselves and then immediately stabbing passers-by, you shouldn't need to wory too much - I know that's a pointless thing to say, of course you'll worry, but I hope that this at least puts things into perspective.

Yippee!! I just knew it! Number 8 is the one for me. Though he might tell you otherwise.
I'm the oldest virgin so far...28. I held out for the right one (the aforementioned Numero Ocho).

I thought Vince at 31 was the oldest.
any way, the number 8 thing canot be true, I know people who got it right first time I know people who have never got it right it all depends on who you meet and how much you are will ing to compromise not how many people you have been out with befor them.

Compromise? Darlin', that sounds almost like settle for less than the best. How about open your heart and mind to adventure and delight? How about trying anything once, just to see if you like it? Though it's been a while since I was a virgin, that seems to be an approach that works pretty well. And it sure does keep things interesting, if there are two of you, with the same attitude towards life.

A successful relationship needs the "three Cs"
Communication
Commitment
Compromise
I didnt make that up, a friend in Canada said it - Canada, another C.
LOL

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Oct 8, 2000
I would agree with that.
Don't forget the two "L"s...
Love & Lust.
No relationship will work without a good dose of both...

The Caffeine Kid Posted Oct 8, 2000
A relationship with the three C's and the two L's would certainly be one worth hanging onto for dear life, I'm sure they are rare and they don't come along too often.
It's just a pity that when one does it can still be thwarted by geography and *other* commitments. {sniff}
But life goes on... unfortunately.
Key: Complain about this post
