Windy, warm and showery in Perthshire today (Saturday).
I just went for a walk in the local woods to blow away some cobwebs (aka Christmas card-writing ). There were 5 horses in the field by the path, which came along to keep me company. They just wanted their noses rubbed and a blow in their noses. Lovely soft velvet...

What a picture of bucolic bliss
We've got a clear sky this morning, not too cold - currently 47ºF (8ºC). I think we have a high in the mid 50s forecast for today, a little warmer tomorrow, and into the 70s on Monday, but close to freezing tonight and almost freezing on Sunday night. The daily minimum-maximum difference in these parts can be quite astonishing.
No more rain for the forseeable future

It's forecast here though...
However at the moment it's breezy, chilly and patchy sunshine. A lovely day for a walk...

A pathetically small amount of snow has arrived.
They promised us about 2 inches by dawn, but when I woke at 5 am, it hadn't even started to snow yet.
Then we got about 1/2 inch of powdery stuff that eventually turned to wet stuff, and now I think it's actually a freezing rain out there. The air temperature is just barely above freezing, but I suspect the surfaces are frozen and it's freezing on contact, because the snow doesn't appear to be melting at all.
Gonna be a skating rink out there!

It was bloody cold this morning - there was ice on the cars and on the grass as I walked thought the complex on the way to the bus stop, and the sun was shining down out of a clear blue sky - not a cloud all day long, which explains why it got up to the mid to upper 60s by the time I left w**k this afternoon.

I sang in two Christmas concerts today. When I got out of the second one, it was 4:30 p0.m., and snow had begun to fall. It's 8:00 now, and we have four inches so far, and the snow is still coming down.
Getting around tomorrow will not be fun.

I hate the snow. Last Christmas as a joke, my sister-in-law gave me a "Let It Snow" sign. TJ put it in the window. We had the blizzard the next day. We had more snow today. I yelled at him to take that freakin' sign down. He just laughed.
Our snow has turned into a pouring rain, and they just interrupted the radio to let us know there's a flood warning. Oh good.

No frost this morning and snow is still forecast - especially for north-east Scotland, so it could well miss us.
The wind is the thing that really gets through to my bones in the winter here. No matter how many layers of fleece you wear, it manages to get in somewhere - usually down my neck or up my sleeves.
Still, it's set to be another sunny one by the looks of the sunrise
