Shane Rimmer

The voice of Scott Tracy. I nearly jumped out of my seat at the cinema and shouted "That's Shane bloody Rimmer!" when he showed up towards the end of The Dark Knight.

Les Reed

A name that was unknown to me until he died, but everyone knows those songs. I'm green with smiley - envy at anyone who can write a hit song, purely because royalties is like having someone pushing five pound notes through your letterbox every day.

Regarding Shane Rimmer: I've seen 11 of his movies.

But I have to smiley - laugh at his involvement in "Morons from outer space". smiley - laugh

As a moviegoer, I'm most likely to have heard Les Reed's music in the soundtracks for movies such as "Edward Scissorhands."

His hit songs? A lot of TV series episodes used hits such as "Delilah" and "It's not unusual" and "There's a kind of hush."

Movies that "ve seen with his songs include:

"Little voice"
"Fear and loathing in las Vegas"

"Hot shots"
"Edward Scissorhands"

Plus TV episodes of "3rd rock from the sun," "Friends," "Bosom buddies," and "Rumpole of the Bailey."

Alas, although I've heard a few of his songs many times, I wasn't paying enough attention to learn them. smiley - sadface

Stephen Thorne

I was never convinced by his accent for Uncle Mort. For one thing it was a Lancashire accent and the Brandon family was from Yorkshire, and it wasn't a terribly good Lancashire accent anyway.

I do enjoy watching the Peter Wimsey television stories from time to time, and he was a very good Bunter. Could have been an excellent Jeeves if he'd been offered the part, I reckon.

Freddie, Rip, and Rutger continued to take roles fairly late in their lives, after playing iconic characters earlier. Even though one or two of them mostly played to U.K. television audiences, they all did movies of international interest. I had no trouble finding movies that I had seen.

Dewey U188950smiley - spacesmiley - cat

I'm glad, in a way. His last two or three years have been spent in complete darkness (blind), complete silence (deaf) and in pain (arthritis). That's hard to take in any animal, but especially since he was always such an outdoor, active cat. This afternoon, the former Mrs Gosho took him to get the Sleepy Dreamy Nighty Snoozey Snooze injection that freed him from his suffering. He'll be missed.
