2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Every time I hear about some aspect of (I guess) modern TV.... and can, utterly claim absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of whom these seemingly 'comedians' or 'actors' are.... it then immediately appears, my abstance from most moden so-called 'culture', and 'celib stuff', is only for the best anyhow smiley - laugh Never hears of either of them smiley - alienfrown do they wear pyjamas? smiley - ermsmiley - silly

I wore shorts, as a male, almost exclusively during my undergraduate years, with heavy, long black leahter boots, and a black leather biker jacket... No one ever commented (to me anyhow), that it was inappropiate.... though several people, useually whilst snow was on the ground, would frequently ask 'arnt' you cold?', to which the reply was always no... - bit more sensative to the cold now, but broadly I just don't feel teh cold, but start melting when the weather gets about above 17 degrees C... smiley - puffsmiley - weird

You know, it's not so much the pajamas. It's the presence or lack of undergarments that makes the difference.

Do undergarments make the difference? Many pairs of running shorts are designed to be worn without underwear, so a large number of the 57,000ish people who did the Great North Run at the weekend would have done so going commando. Does that make not wearing pants normal?

How do the short-hating people of Boston cope with the Boston Marathon if there are thousands of runners not wearing pants? Can people wanting to enter the race train in shorts there, or do they have to wear formal attire (ie tails, bowtie and scuba mask) at all times? If shorts and bare legs are frowned on, how well are short-sleeved shirts received, remembering that Americans have a constitutional right to bare arms?

On the Boston Marathon question, they usually train in complete sweat suits.

I doubt that the people in question leave the editorial offices where they write articles on what people should or shouldn't do. There's apparently an alternative universe where they live out their lives smiley - erm. I'm one of the hoi polloi anyway, so it's unlikely I'll ever rub elbows with any of them.

In all probabillity, I wold never know if someone was wearing underwear or not, provided that they were wearing overwear, whether that was pyjamas or a deep sea diving suit.

I don't care about other people's underwear. Generally. There are times.....

Well, there are times when people are showing off their underwear eg the low cut top or low slung trousers or see-through garments. Other people might not wish to see so much, but they don't have to look - although sometimes it's difficult to avoid.
Then there are times when people inadvertently show off underwear eg garments that are too tight or see-through (which they hadn't realised) or a loose top that is revealing as you lean forward. I guess if nobody comments, they don't realise. Perhaps they'd be embarrassed if they realised - or not care anyway.

I often wonder why we get hung up about seeing underwear or nightwear, which may well be far more respectable than outfits seen at the swimming pool/beach.

So... No stockings or shoes. Where does the Mel Brooks reference come from?

I tried googling it to no avail.
