First time have posted for over 2years. First time I have looked at site for 6months.
I left the site due to one of the 'driving forces' of the take-over told me she was glad I had left a thread merely because I was challenging some debate. If that was her attitude to a long time user doing something that had been done for the life of hootoo: making challenging comments to drive some good discussion then the point of the site was dead for me.
I haven't missed the place one bit. At that point the site dynamics had changed and less people seemed to be using the site. The level of discussion had changed and to be honest I no longer found the debates interesting - everything had pretty much been said.
It would seem it is more about some on-line friends having a laugh and keeping running gags going as long as possible.
I only clicked on the link in my favourites because I came across it today and thought I would take a look.

Good to see you, Alfster.
Yes, the site has changed. I think the ones who remain are waiting for it to relaunch into something good again. Who knows - maybe it will

Are you still in touch with Lady Scott and Shorty? I sometimes wonder what happened to them.

[Post 286 was intended for Clive, but if anyone else is still in touch with Lady Scott, I'd be happy to hear about it.

This site will always be what you make it .
We try hard (well, Pastey, mostly) to make the software behave, improving the stability and functionality of the new platform.
But as for content? That's what everyone who comes here can influence. If you write entries and comment, that's what the site *is*.

Not really, not since my engagement to Amy went south. A shame, but let sleeping dogs lie on that one.
