> woman as home-makers, nesters, carers and so on and so forth.< Christopher
Yes as woman, or Mother Effers as jwf once referred to me, you have me to a tee
except I'm crap at multi-tasking, mores the pity. Something in my genes got totally clucked.
> It suggested that men are "target-oriented" <Chris
Too bloody true. Mind you how does that fit with kea's insistance on categorisation of threads in terms of subject being thrashed out? I thought she was a feminist...

Yep Cancel is the one and only thread here, that we can all together, as one throng, agree, defies categorisation.

<< Effers
are you suggesting I'm not a feminist because I like a communication shorthand of referring to threads that talk about god alot as 'god threads'?
I think you are still confusing a loos-ish grouping of things that look similar-ish with rigidly defined, reality defining rules. How very masculinist of you
>>except I'm crap at multi-tasking, mores the pity. Something in my genes got totally clucked.<< Effers
Au contraire. We need genetic (and nurtured) diversity, and it's completely normal and healthy for our species to have a range of behaviours and expressions amongst the genders. It's only the patriarchal, western, reductionist, colonising, capitalist, planet-clucking mindset that says men should be real men and women should be less than.

What's Christopher up to? Posting invites to serious conversation, with promises of actually reading the responses, and then unsubbing

Instead, talk about this, and I'd look forward to reading it. Can the differences between the sexes be attributed to a conflict between dedication to the Destination and dedication to the Journey? As a male, I do naturally demand an answer.

Go not to the elves for advice for they will say both yes and no.
Or, we don't really have to only conceive of this in a dualistic fashion (unless we find it useful to do so). I can actually read a map and do other things at the same time.

I think Christopher wanted to start a conversation where everyone didn't start banging on about god. And then...evryone started banging on about god.

Hmm. I'm slightly distressed that a thread that was started in my honour has descended into shouting. Maybe I have this effect on people.

It was Christopher who first mentioned 'religion' here, post 11.
>Pure speculation on my part, but I suspect his time online has been suspended for the sake of his family, which might have a bit to do with all the ENDLESS BLEATING ABOUT RELIGION. Perhaps I'm projecting, but take note.
I had been about to post, until I read that, which struck me as somewhat ridiculous. And I didn't know what I was meant to take note of.

'So you're sticking with God. Even with an alternative presented to you. How ing predictable.'
Well, that was odd.
Let's see, I've posted
a comment that I was mixing up threads
a question to Ed about the origin of his name, linking it to the lateral thinking guy
and a link to the thread that Trig had lost track of.
and then Christopher tells me I'm sticking with God even when an alternative was offered. I thought at first he was mistaking me for a believer. Now I understand that he was actually mistaking me for someone who had posted more than a half dozen times to this thread and that any of those many posts was contributing to a discussion of the God debate.
As for alternatives, Christopher, if you're still around: check the conversations I'm subscribed to and the entries I've written and then tell me I'm sticking with God.

Don't stress it. I've had a bad day, I lost my job, and I'm generally tetchy. As you were.

A blinking Parakeet landed on my peanut feeder and tried to bit through squirrel guard cage. To quote Princess Ann. Naff orf (Parakeet)! Thugs of the bird world they are.

I started the thread so if anyone's to blame for the shouting IT'S ME!
