I don't want that. I guess I just want more of a spectrum of personalities and outlooks. It was all big enough back then to meet all kinds. Occasional playing with fire was part of the fun.
But of all of the mentioned bans here, the only one I really miss is Hoo. He was clever as well as cruel. Being on the wrong end of his rapier was instructive as well as painful. Parrying it was a matter of pride.

Huh? That's strange. They weren't in any way offensive. They were decrying the decline of h2g2, give or take. Perhaps someone thought they were off topic, but that's not exactly a crime on here.
The second posting was simply stating that at that time there were only 33 Researchers logged on at that moment, and wondered what the figure was a few years ago.

Ah ok - the second one in particular is very strange - maybe the system is configured to prevent things like that ggoing out?

Hmm, we have some very twitchy mods this weekend.
I would have thought all this would have been sorted out by the eds on Monday morning when they reinstated my post about SoRB.
Nothing wrong in posting the names of banned researchers. No rules are being broken.
