Amongst the many spheres of activity that I actively explore to comprise my knowledge; sport is and remains one of the rare exceptions where my ignorance is not merely profound but cultivated.
I can just about rustle up the interest to maybe watch the snooker (even if the colours confuse me) and I like Professional Wrestling - largely, I suspect, because it isn't real.

""" What has being an atheists to do with knowing or not knowing about sport?"""
True, Im sorry.
O.K This is a serious question.
If there is intelligent life in space would they play sport and what type of sport in your opinion?

Clive,
For me sport remains an enduring and neurotic obsession. I absolutely love it. In my youth I played just about everything and without it to channel my energies I doubt I would have got through school without expulsion. Now I'm just an avid anorack about it.
Games and their patterns fascinate me in a kind of psychological way and also the emotional drama and passion needed to win. I think there's also a class thing as well. My roots are working class and sport was always a traditional expression in our family of assertion.
But yes, I'm pretty weird for a girl

""Eradicate all known forms of extraterrestrial life-forms.""
Was this sport invented by G.W Bush?
What if they are better players?

its played behind a 12foot wall with the supporters on the outside
various implements are placed on the playing field,
basically you grab something, run up behind an oponent him one, run away and then appologise, from a distance
read H2G2 its in one of the 5 books of the trilogy????

I think my inability to catch, kick or otherwise interact with a ball moving or stationary without falling over my own feet in my youth, left me pretty much inured and inoculated against it's charms which I'm assured are multiple but fail to rouse me.
My usual reply on being asked the England result from last night is mild surprise and an inquiry who the match was against.
I guess that makes me a pretty weird boy.

Sports as a do-it thing, yes. But I hate the ijits who know better than any coach, could do better than any player and have never been there themselves. Any pub with a TV switched to sports will have me have my elsewhere. (small league ex , and I know I could never have made it in the Paris-Dakar)

Because rugby confuses me.
The goal is in front but we throw the ball backwards. This seems self-defeating. I told the P.E teacher so. I was never called of the bench again. Worked like a charm .
