He's Shi'ite...at least I think that's how it's pronounced.
2,800+ deities and he believes in the third iteration of the monotheist conglomerate of numerous North African polytheist religions.
Out of those +2,800 recorded deities that people have believed has existed why is the THIRD version of an omniscient perfect god the real one? Shouldn't 'it' have got it right the first time?
Or more succinectly:
Out of those +2,800 recorded deities that people have believed has existed why is yours the real one?
And I don't the answer a christian friend gave me: because all the others are wrong...wow, what an argument there.

I see from 'the news' that there's an increase in child neglect and paedophilia ...
It doesn't seem to me that the offenders are 'particularly religious'.
Why do you think that this is happening? Why are people becoming sexually inadequate/corrupt? Why can't people cope with being 'good parents'?

Hey warner, do those figures include the the kids that were raped, beaten and used as slave labour in a Catholic money making scam in Ireland?

"It doesn't seem to me that the offenders are 'particularly religious'."
So the big scandals about catholic priests buggering choir boys have passed you entirely by?

>>I see from 'the news' that there's an increase in child neglect and paedophilia<<
You've spoken with great pride about the physical and emotional abuse you inflict upon your children. You are hardly one to talk about child neglect.
>>Why can't people cope with being 'good parents'?<<
You tell us, you seem to be a good example of a dreadful parent. Why can't you cope with being a good parent?

No, I'm talking about the general trend NOW.
I'm aware that everybody is capable of evil, whatever their beliefs ...
Again, why do you think that this is happening?

Do you just notice it in the news more or do you have actual statistics to show an increase?

You not have provided a source for your figures. We don't know what time period the figures cover. We don't how reporting differs.
In pious Victorian times there was child labour and child prostitution.
You have not convinced me that significant rise is abuse has happened or that it is part of an ongoing trend.
And if you're trying to make a case for moral decline you are way off.
I find your casual use of real abuse to make your spurious points symptomatic of what I regard as your own lack healthy ethics.
You, warner, disgust me. Not because of what you believe, but because of the sense of entitlement take it to give you to conduct yourself in crude and egocentric manner. Disgusting.

Is this a typical athiest post?
Athiests are just confused people living in denial.

I suppose so - reminding a lying hypocrite of the truth. It's something us atheists have to do a lot.
>>Athiests are just confused people living in denial<<
Sure we are, dear. You keep telling yourself that and maybe the bad atheists will go away.

Oh dear, I've just been on Waz's PS. He/She/It is a 606'er. It's already beyond our help, just leave the poor, benighted soul in peace.

Good try .. trying to turn the question into 'my moral failings' ..
Don't you think sociologists are interested in such questions?
The news reports stated that there was a significant increase ... maybe they're wrong; thereagain, maybe they're right!
[ more likely .. ]
I would say that overwhelmingly, most people consider 'the norm', to be a stable sexual relationship with a partner ... the breakdown of family life, increase in one-parent families, economic 'snooping' of govt. and lack of fulfilling stable relationships might be contributing towards a possible trend.
