Didn't Chris Evans previously stop doing breakfast radio because he found getting up that early too hard?

I like him in the evenings, he sits well there. But I'm not sure about mornings. I'd rather have Simon Mayo for breakfast (he was very good when he did the R1 breakfast show 20 years or so ago) and keep Chris for drive time.

15 years on R2 doing 03:00 to 06:00, its time he was brought into the light

Dame Kennedy single handedly turned me into a Radio 3 listener!

I think Chris Evans had some other well publicised issues going on when he started finding it hard to get up in the morning.

Like all night parties and the like. I don't think he does any (or much less at least) of that any more.

On t'other hand he has a 5 month old baby to keep him awake these days.

Has the batty cat woman got a problem? She seems to have a lot of odd days and weeks off. I listen to her on my short drive to work, she slips in between waking up Today and headphones at desk Today. Can't stand the holy Aled.

While I understand Terry wanting to retire, Chris Evans taking over will halve the ratings. I for one am off to Classic FM when he hit's the mike at 7.30. Why couldn't they have got Johnnie Walker to do it, or Alex Lester or even Mo Dutta anyonne but Chris Evans. How long will it be before he has more days off than Sarah Kennedy?

It could be worse, they may have given the job to Jonathon Ross or Richard Hammond

I would rather have my teeth pulled without anesthetic, than listen to Classic FM. I loathe the way the announcers all drop their voices by two tones and speak slow-ow-owly.

How different we all are.

It's the ads on Classic FM that eventually force me to switch stations. I'm finding myself more and more gravitating to Radio 3.

Sarah Kennedy is good for getting me out of bed in the morning. If someone switches the radio on before 7.30, I'm guaranteed to have to get out of bed to switch her off.

Classic FM is the best of a bad bunch

Radio 1 - I'm Far Far too old and I hate the music

Radio 3 - Not my cup of tea

Radio 4 - Can't deal with all that talking first thing in the morning I need music

Radio 5 - see Radio 4

Radio Solent - See the first flying radio in Hampshire as mine sails out of the window

Local commercial radio - Full of inane DJ's who try too hard.

Jazz FM - I'd listen to it but I don't have a DAB radio

Magic FM - See Jazz FM.

So I'm pretty limited

Good call, I'm with you on the critique, Reefgirl. Can't be doing with words and politics and news when I'm half asleep and vulnerable.

I listen to Radio 3 in the house in the mornings and nothing or podcasts or Radio 2 in the car on the way to and from work.

If anyone made me listen to Sarah Kennedy, Beatrice, they Would Not Be My Friend Thereafter.

I used to listen to her when I had to get up at Ungodly Hours, but recently she's, um, I don't know how to put this, lost the plot?

She's nowhere near as entertaining as she used to be

i hope that the 'Dame' is being dropped and 'the best time of the day show' will run up to 07:30 and link to the b/fast show

For those that do not work nights and have never listened to the Alex Lester show , let me assure them it is the dogs doo dars . I vote Alex Lester .
