I love Assassins Creed. I actually played AC1 last month after playing the others and it was interesting to see how they developed the game play with different styles of missions and also the start of the story.
Although people criticised the repetitive nature of the missions it did mirror the way assassins would have approached a 'kill' by getting information etc so the developers were trying to be fairly true to the profession but I think they realised it was a bit stunted in it's game play.
The other AC games have been brilliant.
The button mashing isn't as simple as the Batman Arkham Asylum technique which is just mash a button...I like the flow of the AC fighting as you can do various different attacking and defending moves.

Fb, you need to own the original game to get the datafiles, and then you run the GemRB open source implementation of the 'infinity engine' that Baldur's Gate runs on. Available from Android marketplace here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.sourceforge.gemrb&hl=en
For my part, it took me a couple of hours to get it working right on my Asus Transformer, but now it is. Let me know if you need tips.
You can also run all those old BioWare games like Planetscape: Torment on it. :D
And do you know you can run old Lucasarts adventure games too with the open source ScummVM engine? (Not available on marketplace.)
You can even run a SNES emulator (SuperGNES).

I take back everything I said about assassins creed brotherhood after sending my blood pressure throuigh the roof trying to hold onto Lucria Borgia - you'd think someone who could take down an armoured knight bare handed could carry a bint a few yards without her escaping

I am enjoying Arkham City - now I've got an x-box that functions.
I'm into the Joker's Lair but took a detour doing some of the side quests - damnation if advanced Augmented Reality Training wasn't hard. Took me *hours* to pull off the correct dive bomb.

How deo you find the Transformer Dogster?
My mate has just got one and I am super dooper jealous having had a play. It seems amazing.
I think the Transformer Prime is being annouced on the 9th November and I am thinking of using my birthday money to get one. My tablet, the Advent Vega is allright but getting a little dated now.

Seems very good - my only (small) problems with it are with Android rather than the hardware, and I'm hoping some of those problems will be fixed in 4.0 when it comes out. Actually one problem with the hardware - the microphone is rubbish so if you planned to use it for skype it is quite problematic. They might be able to increase the sensitivity in software, but they haven't done yet.

Have you "rooted and booted" it? My mate has got a custom ROM from XDA for his and he says it made a huge difference.

No, I'm not so unhappy with it that I felt it was worth the (relatively small) risk. If at some point they stop providing updates I might do it though...

Just finished RAGE. Better than I expected and the best stratergy seems
to be to just load up with as much ammo as you can get.
I expected something of a difficult end with a big bad boss of some kind.
It was rather easy, alternating between shotgun and authority machine
gun with the occasional use of pulse cannon.
Uncharted 3 next.

Well into Uncharted 3 now. A bit of a slow starter but it got better.
I find myself wondering sometimes whether I'm playing a game or
taking part in a movie. Voice acting is spot on and graphics are brilliant.

Uncharted 3 was a lot of fun and it's been traded in for Skyrim.
It's goodbye to normal life from now on.
On another note, I'm somewhat puzzled by the point reward system that
a certain game retailer operates. It's rather inconsistent and double points
haven't materialised. I've emailed them for an explanation but still waiting.
They'd better up their game (ho-ho) otherwise they will lose a good customer.

Skyrim is Skyrim. Started playing at 11:30 last night. Tired now.

Nobody showed up for our Pathfinder session today, and I had a new character to try out. Stupid Skyrim, I'm sure they were all home playing that.

Skyrim, well it's just Oblivion with a new overcoat really.
Not that I'm knocking it, it's a good game. Assassin's Creed came out
of course so I couldn't resist that and I've started playing it.
A bit ho-hum at first but it's getting better and it's a case of
alternating between the two games.
Oh look, there's my life slipping by.

"Skyrim, well it's just Oblivion with a new overcoat really."
I'd have to disagree. And for one key reason - they've ripped out all the old pen & paper style RPG stats and leveling up, plus the character sheet and portrait. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the game. But to an old RPGer like me, Elder Scrolls was an RPG in terms of the rule set and character sheet. They'd tweaked it over the releases, but this one is not Elder Scrolls the RPG.
I'd liken it more to something like the Mass Effect type games.

I have Skyrim and Assassin's Creed Revelations sitting unopened in front of me...which one should I start first?

Do you have anything to do for the next week? If so, don't play Sktrim

IctoanAWEWawi Posted Nov 18, 2011
next week? Next half a year more like!
Then again, in Skyrim you can be a sneaky assassin type anyway, so...
