Yep, DQ. They just said the exact thing on the news here. But what I'm wondering is that if we all become compulsive hand washers how are they going to diagnose OCD?

If you wash your hands again right after, when you've come in contact with nothing and no one?

Effers;England. Posted Apr 30, 2009
Yeah but how does one not let their hands come into contact with air? Should I think of buying some rubber surgeon's gloves?
I blame 2legs for this ridiculous hysterical but sort of fun idea.

And this seems kind of appropriate...when the pigs take over in Animal Farm, the refrain is 4legs good, 2legs bad

The ones with the real OCD will be the ones who spend hours shining their sinks......
.
Surgical gloves need caution and in say operating theatres they need to be disposed of correctly or just spread nasty stuff around.
Again if surgical gloves aren't used with thought they can cause more problems than cure, they also can have small puncture holes which let things through. I beleive you can fill them with coloured water to test this, again simply washing hands after activities is the best. Even before all this I knew that 40% of colds could be stopped by simple hand washing.
Normal 'flu seems to kill more than this piggy 'flu which is just a long line in things that were going to kill every one of us, remember SARS? Actually most don't as a non event.
.
Do you know what I think the real risk of this piggy 'flu is? The real risk is that someone will sneeze loudly on the tube and there will be a panic as people run en mass on escalator and fall, or a tube train in a tunnel will be full of panicking people and dozens get crushed.

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted May 1, 2009
there IS a risk that the virus will mutate into something worse and kill a significant percentage of the human race
but then there is also a risk that a big asteroid will smash the into smithereens
why worry as long as it does not happen? so far we have been lucky
and i won't blame 2legs for that

But just think of all the poor ickle piggys sneezing everywhere.....
Perspective. somethign like 36000 people die each year in the USA from Flu. Not* sards, not avian flu, not piggy/swine flu, just common garden human flu.
How many has swine flu gotten so far?
Simularly we are happy in the west' to let millions of people die each year from curible diseases (E.G., Malaria), and we don't care because the people who get them and die from them are both poor and have dark skin colour.
Possibility of a few white people getting a dose of a nasty flue, from which the vast majority of people wil not* die, and its no cost too high, no measure too difficult.
Jaded? naa.... 2cents>
I blame 2legs for injustice and donuts.
And cheese

I don't much care about that. I'm more concerned about sarf east London, and a little kentish village where my aged parents live.
I blame 2legs for my lack of caring about my yanky cousins as of now, and pure selfishness.

I blame 2legs that I'm suddenly thinking it'd be funny if it turned out Effers and I really were cousins, and that I'll likely never know, as 1) I don't know Effer's real name and 2) I don't have enough info to look into my geneaology. Though I could likely write Grandpa Hopper and get some of the info...

I blame 2legs for suddenly making me wonder about the health of the descendents of my ancestors who moved to America in the 18th century.
I also blame 2legs for this being blatantly untrue and the fact that I only typed it because I thought it was funny.
Clearly, I also blame 2legs for this not being particularly funny and the fact that I can't decide whether to even bother posting it.
