Who's next?
Simetra Posted Feb 24, 2009
so the question now is how will the present Who changed to the new Who?
Who's next?
IctoanAWEWawi Posted Feb 24, 2009
Not sure and wouldn't want to predict.
But I am crossing everything in the vain hope that RTD doesn't overdo the sentimental bit. I bet Rose is in it. And Donna. And Martha - oh heck he'll have every actor/actress who's been in the new DW camping out in the TARDIS.
Who's next?
Simetra Posted Feb 24, 2009
no, they have done that already, besides Rose has got DW mark2 to keep her happy although she may kick him into touch when she sees the new model...somehow I don't think its going to be a straight forward regeneration I'm sure DT won't be leaving without some complex problem, bet we end up with both DWs in the same scene passing the baton so to speak...maybe I should be a script writer

"no, they have done that already"
Never stopped them reusing an idea before, especially with Rose.

I wonder if Roses clone DW will regenerate at the same time into a new clone DW since they are linked, even if it is just his hand
Who's next?

prob not, he's supposed to be human body with timelord mind.
But we all know exactly how mutable the immutable is the DW universe and how possible the impossible is when it suits the storyline.
I'll admit I'm not being entirely serious with the criticisms here
OTOH if Matt Smith is going to be a darker Doctor then one of the bits of background there has been in the new series is the idea that the nature of the death affects the nature of the next Doctor. Thing is I can't see RTD doing a story that would be suitable to create a darker Doctor, I can't help feeling it's going to be as cheesy a heroic death as the end of Terminator 2.
But I could be wrong. I'm sure Moffat will have some say in the matter.

Moffatt does the scarier stories like Blink and those Weeping Angels. So maybe there'll be something scary in the regeneration. RTD seems to do the more sentimental ones, so with Moffatt in charge it should be different.
Who's next?
IctoanAWEWawi Posted Feb 26, 2009
indeed. But RTD gets to do the regen and death of DT hence my concern.
Who's next?
Simetra Posted Feb 27, 2009
so now we know Who's next the question is Who's Who's next companion?

The next companion should probably be a robot. A little more sophisticated than K9 of course but definitely non-human so it comes without all the baggage most of the companions carry. It could even have few hang-up of its own like Marvin the Maniacally Depressed, but at least it wouldn't create the emotional entanglements and latent sexuality that so often detracts from the storyline the way gay old Capt Jack did.
