Just wondering.
Mine was sort of by default.
My first choice (Welsh rabbit) had already been taken.
I'd been reading a novel about Genghis Khan, so Welsh rabbit became Welsh Genghis.
This led to people assuming I was Welsh, so I changed it to Kuzushi.

That makes no sense whatsoever!
The explanation for my name is on my space, and is to do with piratical names derived from real names.

I just liked the word "Malabarista" - Spanish for juggler, but literally means "bad waiter"!

I think I was reading a book on Sparta about the time I joined, the name sprung into my head, sounded decent, and stuck.

It was this one or Cytherean but that's for when I'm in disguise

My parents christened me "Ooh lookatimwiththatfishonisead" so I decided to go for something radically different and dadaist for my nickname.
How did you choose your nickname?
McKay The Disorganised Posted Jun 19, 2008
Whenever I used to play postal role play games I was McKay - which originally came about because I needed a 5 character name in one game - as luck would have it McKay did very well in that game, and so it became my alter-ego.
When I came to log on to a newletter and tried to use McKay it was already taken, so I chose another name, but when I came to log on again I couldn't remember what that other name was, so I became McKay_The_Disorganised.
Well nowadays we can use spaces so I'm McKay The Disorganised.

How did you choose your nickname?
I'm not really here Posted Jun 19, 2008
Seems so long ago now!
I picked Mina from a book with the same name. Had I known it was going to follow me from the internet into real life I perhaps would have chosen more carefully.
'Your Royal Highness' for instance, would have been a good one to answer to in the office.

Alchemilla - because I am a chemist by education
Digitalis - because I work with computer systems
But that got long and boring, so now I'm just Milla.

How did you choose your nickname?
Br Robyn Hoode - Navo - complete with theme tune Posted Jun 19, 2008
I was given mine by a friend who, after me running off for a third or fourth time to greet a male friend I hadn't seen in a while (we were out at a pub I hadn't been to in ages and people I knew just kept streaming in!) commented that I was like 'bloody Robin Hood, what with all your merry men running around'.
She started calling me Robin'ood all the time and I liked it so I kept it. Now a lot of people I've met more recently have been told Robyn's my name. I dont introduce myself as it, but there's no accounting for drinking buddies...
