Yvonne aka india Posted Jun 25, 2008
My nick was sort of chosen for me by my Dom. I used to use my first name, not able to come up with anything more original. When I became a submissive india was chosen as my sub name, something to do with my being exotic (I was born in Singapore) but independant and stubborn. Since then it's stuck with me wherever.

So one's not born submissive then, one becomes one?
How interesting, and a child of Lee Kuan Yew's world too.
A thoroughly beguiling 'nick'.

I was given mine by an old boyfriend years ago. It has something to do with a dog from Sesame Street, the dog used to hide under the bed and pretend to be a crocodile!

So nothing to do with Sparky from Sparky's Magic Piano, remember that? The child who wanted to play piano and wished for one that could play itself so he didn't have to study.

I have a beautiful Pink Paisley Fender Telecaster.
It's beautiful and I love it.

I could have been BlueFlower, an obvious pun if you know T Pratchett, and I have one of those too.

I always seem to be covered in dirt of some kind, though nowadays its usually green paint. Ive evolved from black paint, which was my colour of choice when i joined hootoo. I don't seem to be able to use a biro without the thing getting all over me. My mate said i reminded her of a Dickensian street urchin, so when i say "please sir, can i have some more?" the simalarity to Oliver is remarkable.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!" Posted Jun 29, 2008
In P.E. we went bowling one day and had to input usernames into the scoring computers. I always thought my given name was too boring and ordinary, so I put in 'Mr. X' instead. Everybody liked it so I stuck with it.
On occasions when I can't use 'Mr. X' (the program won't recognize spaces or punctuation marks, for example) I use 'krepta999'. Krepta is the space name given to Peter in "My Teacher Glows in the Dark", which I think is a very important book, and '999' was the number of my Boy Scout Troop.
My sheep, 'Jasm', is named after an old friend of mine from that same Scout Troop who was a Junior Assistant Scout Master. (JASM, obviously.)
*Jasm "baaaahs"*

Taff Agent of kaos Posted Jul 2, 2008
when i joined the army the name taff was aplied to me, being welsh and all. and it stuck, my given name being so easily contracted to john, which realy anoys me,
i play warhammer fantasy battles as a chaos player, and my army are devoties of khorne
i read 2000ad and within its pages the abc warrior deadlock worships kaos
and the skulls and blood stuff i "borrowed" from Vigo the Carpathian in ghostbusters II
i used to have a name based on one of my live action role play characters, but after he died i needed a new identity and so brought together all the above threads to become
Taff
agent of kaos
which is how i end my e-mails

Oddly enough, without the details (i.e. the Taff coming from your army background) I pretty much guessed all of that! Though I assumed the blood and skulls bit had come from *a* fantasy fiction or some such rather than specifically 2000ad.
Weird, I must be more geek than I give myself credit for. It helped that I was seeing a warhammer gamer when I first met you (in fact I was helping him paint his zombie hoard )

No, I spelled 'Horde' wrong and it annoyed me. Obviously the 'stop' and 'back' buttons are not as efficient as I would like.

Primeval Mudd (formerly Roymondo) Posted Jul 2, 2008
Roymondo is dead, long live Socket!
The new name (Socket) isn't *that* new as I've been using it online for a year or so. I initially chose it for a gay site purely for the smutty connotation but found that I liked it and started using it elsewhere. h2g2 was the only place I was still Roymondo (apart from Last.FM which, irritatingly, I can't change) but, after spending Glastonbury being called Socket by numerous people, many of whom I'd never met in real life before and many of whom I ended up having a thoroughly good time with, I figured it was time to change here too.
So there you have it.

GrumpyAlembic {Keeper of 143, comfort zones and vacillations } Posted Jul 9, 2008
Grumpy - not really, but I do like the odd 'what's the world coming too session.'
Alembic (various spellings) - a still, particularly, for spirits like congnac.
I like it because it is to do with progression from raw to refined.
