I went to Hatfield Uni, so I was quite excited when I saw The Galleria in a movie Lee Evans and Kathy Burke did called The Martins.
There was talk of Andy Serkis doing some filming in Ipswich for an adaptation of a book called Addict, but that never materialised.

The Lady of the Mice and I watched "Sleepless in Seatle" the other night. I don't know if I would have liked it had I seen it at the theater, back in the day, but at home it was fun. Cute, emotional, and yes, funny.

On a related note to our off-topic film locations talk.
I went on holiday to Torbay a few years back to a place called Goodrington just south of Torquay and Paignton (you could walk to Paignton easily). I have since been delighted to discover that that was the very beach (Goodrington Sands) where Monty Python filmed 'Scott of the Sahara!' with giant electric penguins and blood going 'scooooshhhhh' out of peoples bodies.

I didn't see her up close or anything, just in passing on my way to work. I think it was a Spiderman film they were shooting? I can't really remember. But anyway, they were doing some shooting just a block over from my office building and their trailers were parked in a lot on the corner opposite my train station exit.
She appeared to be of shorter stature than she looks in photos (I've only ever seen her in one film)- I was only maybe a few hundred feet away and she didn't look to be a whole lot taller than I am.

When does the movie Austalia come out? Is it out yet? I'm keen to see it.

OK, I looked up which Angelina Jolie film was shot here last year (honestly, I don't keep up with her or with a lot of major releases, so I couldn't remember at all!). It was called "Wanted". I've no idea what scene they were shooting around here. Local news archives indicate some scenes were shot in Berwyn, a near western suburb, as well. And she took her kids shopping at a local toy shop just a shirt walk from my home.
And the superhero film that was shot here was that Batman sequel with Heath Ledger. Not Superman.
I don't watch these kinds of movies, sorry for thinking it was Superman.

Quantum Of Solace
Ticked all my boxes, especially Daniel Craig with no shirt on (almost as good as Casino Royale's hook)
The murder-by-crude-oil scene was that meant to be a tribute to Goldfinger? Didn't quite have the same effect...
I wanted to see more of the bits that were obviously cut - setting off after Greene - next thing he's in the car? Finding the bloke he's trailed through the film, and then he walks out? Too jumpy.
And I hated the opening theme tune - Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey are still going aren't they?
Other than that, I'd recommend it

Jaques Tati's "Trafic" (Criterion just released a DVD edition). Not my favorite M. Houlot flick (that would be "Playtime"), but still very funny. Once scene, involving a traffic jam, made me laugh till my stomach hurt.

Bill and Ted were great - I preferred "Bogus Journey" though. Especially the private Hell scene. Watching at the cinema and seeing his grandma's teeth and hairy wart 20 feet across - not one to forget!
I saw Bedazzled for the first time just recently. I believe it got slated by the critics when it was released, is it me, or is it actually quite an entertaining flick? I thought it showed Brenden Frasier's talent quite admirably. I couldn't believe he could be so convincing in each of the characters he portrayed.

I think Brendan Frazier is quite a good actor. For some unknown reason, critics will not praise a comedy or anyone acting in one.

I saw The Science Of Sleep last night on DVD...
Bizarre.
But was it any good? On balance...meh. 2 stars. Just about interesting enough to stop me switching it off.

Saw Cube and Cube 2: Hypercube over the weekend. Sort of like Saw for the autistic. More psychological than gore however, and nicely put together, though hardly classic. Just got Cube Zero to watch.

DonĀ“t go comparing a movie like Cube to the violence pornography of Saw.

Chris, I saw Cube some time ago, thought it was pretty cool. I've got it in the queue to watch again sometime in the not-too-distant future.
Saw was actually rather boring and predictable.
Finally got the chance to sit and watch "Salo". Words fail me- what a film. Definitely not a feel-good movie, but it drives home the dehumanization brought about by the fascist regime at the time.
