I thought Lord of War was excellent - and bloody Jonathon Woss put me off seeing at the cinema by giving it a huge panning.
Saw the new Bond at the weekend.
Only go and see Bond films when they bring in a new one - they aways seem to make a special effort and come up with a cracker** - this was no exception - cracking stuff
**Timothy Dalton's efforts aside

My wife and her friends recently took a tour thru Madagascar, and so were planning to see the new Bond movie, since a portion of the movie is set there. Turns out nothing was actually filmed in Madagascar ... you can't trust these movie people, they probably didn't film LOTR in Middle Earth, either ...

>>Saw the end of 'Lord of War' with Nic Cage the other day - recorded it to watch the whole thing - but looked pretty decent in a moral quagmirish sort of way...<<
Well recommended.

The Wicker Man (2006)
The search to find a remake better than the original continues. Made me laugh imagining Edward Woodward kung fu kicking a Sister though.

Saw III
I loved parts I and II for their twists, as well as the gore. But part III was all gore and very few plot twists. No doubt I will see IV when it comes out next year!

Saw Casino Royale last night. Brilliant stuff. Though the product placement was a little overdone in places, but such is the nature of the industry.
Trailer for SpiderMan 3 was on the front end of it. I so want to see that film. And I want to see it now! This minute!

I saw Casino Royale last night as well (but no Spidey 3 ads). I thought everyone said there were none of the traditional one-liners in it, that's not the film I saw. You're right about the product placement though.

The only problem I had with Casino Royale was that it was the original Bond and starting it all back from the beginning just seemed a little off. It really didn't feel like Bond to me. It just seemed like the film makers were following in the foot steps of a 21st century fascination with the prequal and we all know how that went for Star Wars.
Spiderman 3 is a definate for me. I enjoyed the first two and thought they were the best of the comic book movies.

Saw Happy Feet this afternoon. Now, I know I cry at EVERY movie, but I think I must have blubbed my way through every minute of this one: the cute lickle penguin who was ostracised for being different, and then saved the planet through the medium of dance
Of course it was anthropomorphic, but it owed a fair bit to March of the Penguins as well.
Fab soundtrack.

Say Casino Royale last ngith and loved it. I've liked Daniel Craig as an actor for a while now, but now I know there's so much more to him and he makes a great Bond. The Bond girl was also unusually intelligent, witty and independent as well, which made it even better.
The end did drag though, that was a bit of a pain.

Watched "The Lake House" again, I swear it was better than the first time. One for my Christmas list, methinks.

I watched Crash again tonight. It's a really good film, however, I watched it for my psychology course, which made me feel not good. 'cos it keeps me thinking about what psychology issues the film expresses.
Anyway, it is worth watching at anytime in any mood.
BTW,I wept for some scenes, and it's little bit ashamed to say.

I just found out The Departed is a hollywood remake of the great Hong Kong movie Infernal Affairs. I wonder how that will be. At least a less tacky title.

Saw Bond the other night. I enjoyed it and grinned all the way through. FianceƩ thought it dragged on and felt a bit uncomfortable with the torture scenes which she felt pushed the boundaries of the 12 rating.

I watched "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife And Her Lover" yesterday. I've seen it n times before, but it's still good, particularly with the soundtrack, the clothing style, and the "spot the famous British actor before they were famous"ness.
