How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master Started conversation Aug 20, 2004
I only ask because I have realised that I actually own quite a few. Having often laughed at the numbers of shoes my female pals own I decided to count mine.
I realise that I actually own 9 pairs:-
Walking boots, smart shoes for work, smart shoes for going out in, a pair of trainers for going out, a pair of running shoes, a pair of football boots, and pair of "Mouldy" football boots for astroturf, a pair of wellington boots and a pair of flip flops.
Also I still have my old trainers in case I need them for decorating. It seems a bit exesive to me.....

I have never considered myself anything like a shoe addict, but estimate 20 pairs, ranging from big laced up hiking boots to very high heeled strappy things with sparkly stones. Also trainers, two pairs of high tops (converse copies, yesterdays purchase has flames) and a number of flats for work, a few flat sandal things (not the kind with a thong between the toes), couple of boots... do dance training/ballerina shoes count?
Either I clean out, or maybe I should seriously get into shoes, and organise my closet...

Hmm
1 pair of walking boots
2 pairs of trainers
1 pair of shoes for work
4 pairs of other shoes
2 pairs of sandals
1 pair of boots
1 pair of wellingtons
I guess that makes 12 pairs, plus any I've forgotten

1 pair of black shoes

Anyone wearing older shoes than those?

Black work lace up shoes 1 pr
Dressy black shoes 1 pr
Old scruffy slips ons for the garden 1 pr(black of course)
Black winter boots 1 pr
Black sandals 1 pr.
Scruffiest oldest comfy mossacins slippers 1 pr(pink because there were no black ones)
That's it.No need for any more. You can only wear one pair at a time and if you stick to black there's no need for duplication due to matching of colours.
Incog.

5 pairs (6 if you count workboots and 7 if you count wellies)
2 pairs practical black street shoes
2 pairs trainers
1 pair dress shoes
Boring, right?
(The real reason I posted was to point out that Lucky Star listens to opera and keeps beer in the fridge. Now we know about her footwear deviancy, it kind of figures, doesn't it?)

I beg your pardon! It shows that I live life to the full, have a wide range of interests, don't like to confine myself to a narrow selection, and have a somewhat quirky but individual sense of style!

or you're completely mad. One of the two
I have:-
Shoe style boot things for work (I hate shoes, always aggravate my abkles. So only every buy boot style shoes).
British Army Assault Boots ( sadly with a hole in them after today. Still, 3 years isn;t a bad lifespan ) Used for absolutely everything except going to work. These are my every day shoes. Damn good value for money.
A pair of trainers I never wear and can;t remember why I bought them. But they are very very cheap and would probably get me beaten up by all the trendies if I ever did wear them
Pair of hiking boots I bought a long time ago and used a a bit but haven't worn for ages.
Erm, that's it!

Having recently been forced to "retire" a number of pairs of shoes, I am now reduced to:
Black leather, work-style (3 pairs)
Black leather, patent
Brown leather, work-style
Brown leather, casual
Blue/brown leather (trust me, this works), casual
Blue canvas, casual
Flipflops (2 pairs)
10 pairs, which seems reasonable, or on the low-ish side, to me.

Yes, Ictoan, black patent leather. A pair of shoes every male over the age of 20 should possess, as these are the required footwear with black tie.
The question is, why don't *you* have a pair?
