How about an example of the God dellusion?

Nnnn...for all her faults...sometimes it's useful to hear a dissenting voice in order to decide precisely *why* one disagrees with it.

A question for Christians, though: In some cases, I've openly disagreed with Atheists on this thread. I seldom see Christians speak against one another. Why is that? I somewhat doubt that you agree on everyything. Is it that - and this would be quite reasonable - that you are holding to a united front on this thread? Are Christian threads hotbeads of dissent and disagreement?

Glad the Rapprochement went well, Frs. Consider it a victory: clawing out acceptance.

smiley - geek (and everyone else)...I shall be in Atheist Scandiwegia next week, and don't intend taking my laptop. smiley - tongueincheek I do hope you'll manage to think of intersting stuff to say without my prompting.

In terms of Christian disagreement, my dad was talking today about his presby grandmother and how she was fiercely agin alcohol. Her son, my dad's dad was a bit of a liberal presby, you might say. So why great granny was holding forth about the demon drink, he was sneaking off to the pub for a wee dram of Teachers.

Well Christians plainly *do* disagree (as do adherents of other religions). Anothe question for them. Is this because:
a) Some Christians are not 'true' Christians?
b) Christian teaching is ambiguous and unreliable?

Dunno. When I accidentally spent a dirty weekend in Walsingham, all the priests were knocking back Jamesons.

Och, for shame, Frs. It was posted in your honour! Think economics.

Ed Questions.

Some disagree.
YOu know the Liberation Theology movement. Vatican and they aren't in good terms at all.

They first look at the circumstances of an individual and act(help them). They don't force religion. They talk about religion, the way they feel the Love of God(whatever it means for EACH individual Christian)

They are rejected because are considered Marxists. But that is not the reason. They questions hierarchies and greedyness.

Why they are rejected is a theological question. I guess it's to do with whether they are motivated by religion, or are simply using Christ as a revolutionary icon. I'm not sure I can comment.

(Strangely enough...I'm watching a review of Benicio del Toro as Che on TV right now.)
