How about running your own country?
[...] Posted Jan 21, 2004
The Rogue Nation of Prosprus is a tiny, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.
There is no government in the normal sense the word; however, a small group of community-minded, moralistic individuals devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A large private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Book Publishing, and Pizza Delivery industries.
Crime is a serious problem. Prosprus's national animal is the leader, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the moneybag.

I've just joined as the Confederacy of Addolan
"Location: the Pacific
The Confederacy of Addolan is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its burgeoning cat population. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The large government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 29%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small but healthy private sector is led by the Basket Weaving industry, followed by Pizza Delivery and Gambling.
Crime is moderate. Addolan's national animal is the cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the denari."
How do you add yourself to the h2g2 community on the site, btw?

"The Hootoo region of www.nationstates.net is low on countries and is in need of a population boost. Personally taylor your country to yourself and run your own nation, democratic, communist, anarchist, whatever you want. Password is h2g2."
I just tried to move, entered the password and kept being told it was "wrong" before being "temporarily blocked from moving into password controlled regions". Good going. Get the password right next time.

The password *was* right, but for reasons best known to themselves, sorrillia changed it. Dunno what to.

"Change it back to h2g2 - nobody really minds if it's not just hootooers who are there..."
You're probably right--I'll change it back in a day or so. After all, without the constitution link in the fatbook, there is no reason to worry about what is posted on the guide.

We don't really mind if there are non-hootooers but for some reason there are groups of people who "War" aganist regions. They enter regions en mass and select one of them for delegate, giving them the ability to boot whoever of the previous tenents they like, or don't like. I still haven't quite figured out why they do it since they can always just make their own region.
