Going back to Kansas I think the inhabitants are called Kansans. The inhabitants of Arkansas are called Arkansans, rhyming with those from Kansas.
Couple of places in Lincolnshire, for the Dickens fans;
Swineshead
Wrangle, and my favourite

Not forgetting the inimitable (and recently reprieved) 'Lost'.
As I'm sure you all know, their signpost was forever being nicked, and the council - in their wisdom - proposed renaming it 'Lost Farm' in the hope of deterring thieves (a vain hope in any case). Last I heard, the locals were objecting to this.
PS, well done Bilbo, and sorry - I must have missed the last bump you gave this thread.

Not far from Birmingham there's a place called Cofton Hackett, which sounds like the residents have chest infections. And there's a village in Warwickshire called Haseley Knob, which sounds like some kind of sexually transmitted disease.

Carlton Scroop, there's a place I haven't heard in ages. Used to live near there. For weird there's also Croxton Kerrial (prn. Crows-ton) then just up the road from where I lived were Bitchfield and Swayfield. I like the name Swayfield, sounds very nice Unlike Bitchfield !

I've got a silly name for you
Go to streetmap and enter 'Kelvedon Hatch'.
Now zoom in to the middle zoom level.(ie the fourth out of the 7 levels).
Now, look up and to the left a bit of the indicated place.
Isn;t that a silly name eh?

I've noticed that someone has already mentioned some of my favourites being Nether, Over & Middle Wallop. There is a very small valley near where my grandparents lived called Bugs Bottom. It was fields and farm until they build houses on it.

Not a town name, but I'm sure there was a street called 'Gropec**t Lane' somewhere in England. Honest! Anyone got any info? Apparently it was a 13th century red-light zone or something...
