Hi Shhhhhh (hope I spelled that right)

Yes, we got a little convertor box when BBC2 arrived. The height of technology. smiley - geek

They were flickering scary at the time but the back of the sofa was perfectly safe. smiley - biggrin

I still love Thunderbirds - although the acting's a bit wooden. I can still remember an episode of Fireball XL5, with Steve Galaxy(?) and the robot on a conveyor belt, which was terrifying. Is this stuff out on video or on Sky anywhere?

For some weird reason I liked Pinky and Perky too. smiley - erm # Would you like to swing on a star ... #

My earliest memory is of Watch With Mother. My favourite was the Woodentops. After that, I remember rushing home from school to watch the Magic Roundabout and of course the very first episodes of Dr Who (in black & white).I'm still a Dr Who fan, all these years later!

Anyone remember Twizzle? I thought he was terrifying.

Daleks weren't scary once you realised they couldn't climb stairs. They didn't get the hover ability until I was too old to be scared of them anyway. Cybermen were seriously scary.

Valerie Singleton and Christopher Trace were Blue Peter, it was never the same again.

I dunno, the Noakes/Purves/Judd combo was pretty awesome.

Good Lord - doesn't it make you feel old!! Well it does me anyway!

Also now flooding back.........The Lone ranger! [ ]

What was all that about?? He wore a mask so he wouldn't be recognised?
Travelled around with Tonto and shouting at the top of his voice about a horse called Silver - Of course he would be recognised!!! smiley - smiley
I'll bet when he took the mask off he looked like a Panda - riding for hours in the sun with a mask on!

Oh yea - and Robin Hood - I once watched an episode of that where something had gone wrong, they re-shot a picture of the original picture - with a human hand in shot - pinning the shots together - seriously strange!

Of course! Steve Zodiac. Thanks Bornonthe20thaugust. smiley - biggrin

Hey, Shhhhhh, that's inspired - of course when the Lone Ranger took his mask off it would be obvious he'd been wearing it! "Who was that unmasked man?" smiley - laugh

Snockerty mentioned 'White Horses' - there was a similar thing called 'The Lightning Tree'; Arthur English was in it I think.

I had a bit of a crush on Stacy Dorning in 'Black Beauty' too. smiley - smiley

Catweazel - he had a "telling-bone" - there's a reference to it in a Chris Rhea track - Stainsby Girls - maybe It's me but it certainly sounds like that!

I remember when I was about 6, seeing a snippet of a show where this guy in a dressing gown was walking down a tunnel made out of grilling while another guy showed him this plastic box. It was the wierd pulsing warble in the background that stuck in my mind.

They showed it again when I was 11. 'I've seen this!' I gasped, and was stuck to it from then on.

Chocky was good too, as I recall smiley - erm

Yes, Pippi Longstocking, finally something I can relate to. You guys have lost out on so much not being able to see Danish children's TV. You didn't even have Rasmus Klump!
