Bluebottle

PH: picnic places that only sell cans of drink and not bottles during wasp season. With a bottle, I don't have to drink it all in one go if I don't want to, and between each sip I can put the lid on to keep my drink safe from spills and insects.

Cans just attract wasps, which crawl inside.

I was at a cafe the other day where someone appeared to have left a bottle out especially to attract & catch the wasps.
Having previously developed huge lumps from wasp stings, I am wary of getting stung but I have steeled myself to keep calm and tolerate them. Not much effort to cover the top of drinks & check food before biting & much worse to flail around trying to send them away than let them investigate & fly off on their own.

Making tea with a teabag in a blue mug.

I can rarely judge the length of brewing or the colour of the tea properly and almost always ends up too strong or too weak.

Thinking about not using that mug doesn't help because it is my Wimbledon one and I have to.

Sometimes I use my yellow one, which is much easier to manage.

Make tea in a teapot. It's much easier to guarantee consistent strength.

Sho - employed again!

I use my Gladbach mug - it's white china.

Having said about making tea in a teapot, I used to make tea in the cup. I have a green-ish mug and it was hard to gauge the strength when I made tea in it. Maybe it's the element of blue in a colour that makes it hard to judge. I never had the problem with white or cream coloured mugs.

I don't have a Dons teapot.

Which reminds me of another PH. Teapots that dribble. And that includes pretty much every teapot on the planet.

PP, there are teapots that don't dribble. We have an enamelware teapot made by Falcon. It's the best teapot I've ever used as far as pouring is concerned. Unfortunately the handle gets so hot that you have to use a pot-holder.

PH: rainy wash day. Means using the drier or having wet clothes hanging out for days as it's not yet cold enough for heating indoors.

Pastey, do more business in Scotland. Their August Bank Holiday is the first Monday of the month, not the last.

Depends how you look at it, KB. Yes, you wouldn't be able to do business with Scotland at the beginning of August, but you could do business with English companies then. Conversely, you can't do business with English companies at the end of August, but you can do business with Scottish ones. It all evens out.

I think you'll just have to put up with that one Pastey. Try scrapping the 12th of July here and you'll probably regret you bothered. smiley - yikessmiley - laugh
