I hate to tell you this, but those a..holes aren't just in school. It's the "Do they take sugar?" approach. People will ask your friend / carer / whoever questions, rather than talk to you. It's as if a disability leaves the disabled person brain-dead or affects their mental capacity in some way. I'm semi-disabled (don't need a wheelchair all the time) so I don't have to suffer that attitude too much, but I know it's out there. It annoys me, too.smiley - crosssmiley - steamsmiley - grr

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Trust me, talking about you as if you're not there/asking others what you want instead of asking you is not restricted to disabled people any more. Society as a whole is becoming more impolite. This is one of my petty hates... manners cost nothing.

One of my petty hates is when you have somebody come stay with you for a few days and then they wait for you to go to bed or go out to sneakily use your phone to make overseas, long distance and mobile telephone calls so then when you get the bill you are shocked and discusted at the cost of the bill and too make it worse its when its a family member that you are helping.

I was up at 4am for the same reason. Laid in bed until 5:30 trying to sleep, failed. Got up and went on the interweb.

Mugs/cups with tea/coffee stains in them. smiley - yuk

Why do so many people seem incapable of cleaning these things? It's not hard. 15 seconds in the washing-up bowl with a slightly abrasive sponge. I've had some of my mugs for over ten years, used them daily and they're still as clean inside as the day i bought them, and most except the real cheapies haven't been scratched by the sponge either smiley - erm

Dirty cutlery/crockery in general. Just clean then properly every time and the gunge will never build up smiley - steam

Sorry, that should have been "glad *not* to mention it again." Actually, it should have been:

Have I mentioned cucumber in sandwiches? If I have, I'd be happy not to mention it again; if not, I'd be glad to elaborate.

Freudian slip? smiley - ermsmiley - run

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque

A blissful early morning slumber broken by a dream in which I was having an argument with my now deceased father. Quite depressing as it seemed very real (possibly because it was about nothing important) smiley - sadface

Currently doing a database. 1 of the things I have to record is title. Ocasionally we might get a Dr but for men its nearly always Mr. For single women it can be Ms, Miss or Mrs. For women with a partner it can be Ms, Miss or Mrs. What is the point of recording this information which doesn't tell you anything anyway? The database won't even be used for a mailing list.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

I happen to like pennies. Pennies should not be replaced with nickles.

Anyway.

Excessive politeness; sugar-coating ("passed away" and "put to sleep" instead of died and killed); people who love the President at first, then in the last year or two of his term talk like they've been against him all along; um...... Leaving the lights and TV on even when NOBODY'S HOME!!!

Hubby going shopping straight from work when we were supposed to be doing something else. The place we were going closes at 8pm, the supermarket is open 24hrs. I knew we needed to go supermarket shopping and I assumed we'd be doing that afterwards. But no, hubby forgets what we planned and does the supermarket shopping instead. smiley - cross

And another thing! When people spell my name as "Jon" and "Jhon" instead of "John".

Okay, someone else can have the soapbox now.

>>"put to sleep" instead of "killed"<<

Ah, but "put to sleep" conveys some meaning which is lacking in "killed".
