I really hope you obtained the licence and the special insurance waiver that you need for that? Any variations from the written specifications can give you dreadful repercussions in the area of international legal domain.

Well, here I am in England. The rain is severely cramping my style. I need to invest in the lightweight rain hood add on. However, the adaptor to clamp the fixing rings has been painted over. Any idea how to undo the bolts without ending up needing a complete respray?

Vinegar and beach sand. But take care not to get any into the front alternator - that one is a to replace.

It seems that Geggs is having problems with his splines. Reticulation or something.

Actually, I am more inclined to believe it will be something else.

My stragette is getting worn, and up to now I've been using a jeweller's screwdriver and a hole punch to adjust it. Now though I'm at tthe extreme end of the range and I don't know whether to buy the proper adjusting wormer, or replace the whole thing.
Has anyone tried this without the bench rig ?

That was always the problem with the stragette. People think they've saved money, but you only get a practical tolerance with a fully-sized strag. Upgrade kits are available.

Concur 100%. The only safe way to use a 3a is to unravel the fuse wire and run it anti-clockwise around the glide-pump.

More worrying is that the Higgs particle will render the whole apparatus impossible. You should invest in a backup system now.

In that case I'd beg that you use a double insulated socket set, and stand on rubber mats. Preferably in the adjoining room.
