I'm trying to work a way of getting to the meet even if my parents finally say no (always good to have a backup plan!). The trains looking good at the moment. Do you think we'll be doing moving around type things?
Could make for an interesting Post article if I get arrested and taken back home!!!

I think it'd be an interesting Post article regardless of which one (or even how many) of us gets arrested !
...
how are you/we going to get arrested, by the way? I just want to tell my boss precisely why I need, , "a few days off" at the end of January...

Re: Getting arrested
My Mum and Dad are mega-over-protective, and it's very hard for me to be able to go anywhere or do anything, despite being only 6 months away from 18. (See conversations from 2002 Winter Meet!)
So if they said no, and I came to the meet anyway, they'll probably send the police after me to get me home again.
They did when I left home for the day. I'd even left a note saying what time I'd be back, and I had just gone to school, just about 7 hours earlier than usual. Police turned up at school, and my tutor guarenteed them that they'd make sure I got home immediately after class. She spoke to me about it later, which is how I know.
Hope this explaination helps.
Lifson

Ripper, you don't *have* to travel down to London with me. In fact, I might not even be travelling to the meet from Nottingham, but that's not confirmed at this time.

just a question: what makes you freer at 18 than you were at 16?

That would be because at 18 you is legally an adult.
Of course that doesn't mean you have to start acting like one. Oh no...
