If we get too many new researchers,
they'll run out of things to research,
and then what will we all do?

Researching each other can be jolly good fun..... So long as both parties are consenting adults above the age of 18 (21 in some regions).

Possibly mentioned in the backlog but i wish that all these unactivated accounts could be re-allocated after say 2 years. it seems such a waste. Of course, that would upset the 'number' snobs but if someone hasn't activated their page in 2 years then they are unlikely too, and will just create a new account if they return to the site (2 years is an arbitary figure and don't want to start a pre-rupert reference )

But then everyone would be starting new accounts to get lower U numbers ...

True, but if it was so common then the numbers would become unimportant so people wouldnt bother. There are so many accounts out there just needing an owner.

But the numbers are already unimportant as there's enough of them for everyone who wants one.
And actually there *are* people coming back after years of inactivity!

Return of the living dead?
Of course, there are researchers that forgot
their passwords or had to step aside because
of family emergency (Mistadrong), or who got caught
up in writing a ghost novel (Ex-Rambling).
They are always welcome back, but they built up
active Personal Spaces before leaving.
LifePod left without explanation more than
a year ago, and has never resurfaced.
Tuc Fortuneswell died, unfortunately.

What is the point of recycling? With 4.3billion U-numbers available, we are hardly likely to ever run out of them.
