Who is Researcher 200000?
Lady in a tree Posted Aug 7, 2002
So Marjin and deny it....and I was the 4th poster and it wasn't me....and that bottle was already there when I posted....AND the person had already subscribed to the thread....
The clues are there folks!

Lady Scott Posted Aug 12, 2002
I have a feeling I might have figured out who it is.....
Do we know for sure it was a "she"?
I'll need to ask her first, I suppose, get her to own up to it....

Ooooooh, that was post 42 on this thread.... I may be on to something here.....

Just one more thing I can't figure out..... If I recall correctly, and correct me if I'm wrong on this, isn't it possible to subscribe to a conversation without ever posting to it? Couldn't U200000 have simply been lurking under his/her usual number and then subscribed as U200000?

Possibly.....
So we've determined that U200000 did not need to be online under their usual name at the time of the registration, but may have been, especially if U200000 was waiting till just the right time to register....
And also that U200000 did not need to post to this conversation in order to subscribe to it....
Which leaves us..... pretty much nowhere.......
I suppose we could ask every single researcher if they are U200000, and make sure they submit to lie detector tests...

Mina, you can't test the userpage possibly because you're doing <./>test200000</.>, but doing <./>testuserpage200000</.> works for me!

*comes clean*
It's not me!
I only noticed we'd passed the U200000 mark when a newbie with a +200000 number asked for a Keeper title.

I only noticed when I wanted a test account, and that was above 200000

Jonny, I was doing my usual trick of getting the word wrong. I always try to testuserspace, instead of page.

Now *that*s a clue if ever there was one!
Grey Desk - Where were you on the night in question, at 5:30 am your time?

AlecTrician is staying suspiciously quiet don'tchya think???
5.30am UK time = 11.30pm Florida time
Come on - deny it and let me cross your name off my list of suspects (oooh this is just like Cluedo! - except I hope it's not like the Father Ted version where Dougal forgot to put the murderers card in the little black wallet!)

At 5:30am BST I was sound asleep.
At around 7:30am BST someone was registering U200000 as they're very own researcher number.

Well it is not me. Although Lady in a tree may have something when she says "AlecTrician is staying suspiciously quiet " . Got to be a suspect

We seem to have some kind of disagreement on what time this actually happened... but Ok, if it was 7:30am British time, wouldn't that make it 2:30am Eastern Daylinght time? And only 11:30pm Pacific Time?
We're looking for an early rising Brit, or one who works at that hour and posts at work...
Or possibly an American on the west coast - perhaps one who posts from a night job or is at home at that hour and doesn't have to get up for work too early. I think most of the east coast has given up and gone to bed by 2:30 am, even on such an auspicious occasion - but I could be wrong, as some people on the east coast do have jobs late at night from which they can post on here....
Could also possibly be an Aussie, as they would have been in their late afternoon at the time.
Oh, well, that narrows it down a lot, doesn't it?
