Being left for a younger a guy...

Asking my sister (who is 13 years my junior) for advice

My children not willing to listen to 1960 and 70s protest songs saying the lyrics are STUPID.

Realizing that when my parents were in their mid thirties, when I was in my early teens, I thought THEY were old.

The realization that I'm driving a Mini Van when I would rather drive a VW Bug.

Attending my best girlfriends 50th Birthday Bash and knowing that I'm only 11 months behind her.

However, I drive a Scooter during mild weather and for that reason, my kid's friends think I'm COOL.

An older man joins up with a young man at the golf course to play a round. The young guy is good, booming long drives. The older guy doesn't hit that far, but he plays quickly and keeps up. On one hole, the young guy ends up with a tall tree between his ball and the green. The older guy says, "When I was your age, I'd just hit over that tree". So the young guy accepts the challenge, takes a mighty swing and wham!, hits the tree. The old guy says, "Of course, when I was your age, that tree was three feet tall."

I have an oak tree in my back yard that I planted many years ago, transplanted from a bucket that I drove home in my car. The circumference is now over 6.5 feet.

This doesn't make me feel old, only scared!.. but I'm in the Uni computer cluster at the moment, and behind me are two first years worrying about exams that I sat nearly 4 years ago.

I see a few flakes and think "Oh no! Traffic chaos, gridlock, and not getting home for hours..."

A week ago I was a teenager, I want to go back there...
