Mornings when I look really swollen. And the fact that I haven't stopped sayng I am 20 for two years

When I look at the mirror in the mornings (those really early ones) I see a swollen girl with very red eyes. Oh, and for two years I have beem lying around I am 20

Surviving the last of my nuclear family at 25, needless to say; surprisingly not so much though as reading the NME these days, blissfully unaware of ANY of the top artists.

Reading "Q" magazine at the bookstore with a survey of the best 100 albums of all time, and having not ever heard at least half the music. OK, I AM old ... but OTOH, I can sing the other half of the music from memory ...

My fellow teachers used to be the same age as me. Then, as new teachers came to the school I saw their ages and thought "I'm old enough to be their mother". Now it's coming up to "I'm old enough to be their grandmother"

Another few things that make me feel old..
realising when my parents were my age they were married,
my little brother having a serious relationship with a girl
my even litter brother legally buying me a drink and driving a car
my parents discovering had a sexual realatesionship and not telling me I'm too young to consider that kind of thing!

realising my younger siblings are grown up Brian Adams' "Everything I Do" was released 12 years ago 
fashions I wore in school have done the circuit and are now coming Back into fashion!

Don't worry any of you 30s to mid-30s about not knowing any of the groups on Top of the POps or in the NME. By the time youre kids are 10 or so, you'll be really back into the swing of things. And it's really great going to concerts with them.... that's when I don't worry about being old - I don't feel out of place at concerts that my kids are going to. My middle son and I like the same kind of music and I can stand quite a bit of dance floor/techno stuff (youngest) or hip hop (eldest son), except for the language of the latter.

Being invited to the 40th birthday party of the girl who was my best friend at school.
Saying 'I'm going out with the Girls' is beginning to sound like irony. I could say 'I'm going out with the women'. 
Doesn't sound the same, though.
