There's a company called Easy Riders that publishes some tattoo magazines. I find them quite good.

Cool thanks again for advice . I managed to find a design similar to the one I want on the internet so I'm off to the tattoo place today to see how feasable it is

Please anyone getting a tattoo, don't get a 'fashionable' symbol of today, it looks soooo tacky. I'm talking about little red devils, or cartoon characters which aren't going to be around in a few years. You'll only have this tattoo which isn't funny anymore.

Don't go for the old spider's web on the face. Guarenteed to put off potential employers.
Also steer clear of having the initials of your favourite football club tattooed on the inside of your lower lip.

The decision is YOURS. Only advice I'd give is go for a design that is not mass-produced. I've known a couple of people who tattooed themselves with a design they got from an album cover or something, only to find that someone else had the same thing.
(And you thought it was embarrasing when someone showed up with the same T-shirt as you!?!)

B******s went to the shop with me design and it was too detailed and would have covered half me back (I wanted it on arm) so unless I see something else or a nice piece of flash it looks like the tattoo is on hold

What is the design? One of us might be able to work out a simplification (if such would be appropriate).

Hmmm... been thinking of getting a tattoo myself, but haven't come up with the exact design yet - I have a hunch, but that's all...

But yeah, one important thing is getting something timeless, since it will be there for 50 years. And taking one of the fashionable things isn't good either. Chinese symbols and tribal stuff.

A lion headed goddess. I also can't remember any. But the hippo-headed one looked good

I got one done before my 40th birthday last year, although I wimped out and went for a "semi-permanent" one that lasts about 3 years. yes it's a trendy tribal symbolly thing but it's not going to be there forever.

It did hurt though, and I have a high pain threshold.....

but I have absolutely no regrets about having it done.

I flicked through a book of the shop's designs until one "spoke" to me, and that's how I chose it.

Sekhmet, doesn't ring a bell. But Eye of Ra is a bit overdone as a tattoo.
