I doubt it will be the club that's the problem. But tonight I'll head off to Hard Rock Cafe. It seems the only place here where they have proper live music.

I just hope they aren't as scared of having foreigners hit on them as I'm being told.

There is a funny, unwritten law - not unlike Murphy's - which dictates that you will probably be out walking in the jungle one day, or whatever one does in Malaysia, an you will bump into a girl who really likes you and you get on really great. It will turn out that this girl is Danish and comes from the next village or town to your home town and you went to school with her brother.

That's what travelling is all about!

When I went down here I thought I might be seen as mysterious and exotic, and maybe get some girls on that. But I'm really starting to get the feeling that they just look at me as some freak

Anyway, there was a girl at a restaurant today. I don't think she was that beautiful in the normal sense perhaps, but her eyes and smile was really nice. I couldn't really keep my eyes off her. I would like to have gone over and talked to her, but she was sitting at a table with 11 guys. Didn't quite know what to do. And the whole time she managed not to look in my direction once

Well, they were Malaysian so really short yes.

But I'm one of the only white people in town and two meters tall. And everybody else stares and honks at me. How come she didn't even look at me once?

They are really short down here. I often get an urge to sing "I like Chinese..." but I'm afraid they'd just get mad, and jump up and bite my kneecaps.

You can get New Scientist in Malaysia? I have to say I have never seen a female reading it...

I have been looking for it in shops here, but I haven't been able to find it.

It is actually not very often you see girls read magazines more complicated than Cosmopolitan. Sad.
