So, anyone got some good things to say to girls after you've hit them in the head with fruit? My conversations usually die out after the "Hi!".

"Hi, my name is..." And hold out your hand. When she places hers in it, expecting you to shake it, kiss it instead. Then ask her if she'd like a coffee at a nearby bar. Then you just talk. Talk about what you do, what she does. Ask lots of questions about her. Be interested and you will be interesting.

You should try horse riding - other than the fact that most of the women who ride have strong femine legs, they are well used to using their hands for soft caressing. Also there are not a lot of men who ride for pleasure so you whould be a rare comodity and as we all know that which is rare is well sort after - so it shouldn't be to hard to find a 'lass' who is willing to do you some small favours. Good luck hunting though and if you do find your girl remember me and let me know where I can find an equally nice man.

I knew I was missing something! Thanks Ben for redirecting me back to this thread. It had slipped down the list and I had forgotten about my interest in that story as all my editorial energies were directed to the new AGG/GAG project (see H2G2Post).
And of course the holidays...
Now, yes, Corinth I will again offer a few suggestions as soon as I can. And of course I'd like your permission to feature the piece in an upcoming issue of AGG/GAG. As it is, it would be one of the best pieces we've ever featured. Let's aim for the upcoming Valentine's Season, say the Feb 7th issue, as an appropriate publication date for a 'love story'.

*Xan: Your continuing self-deprecation amazes me. I thought you had moved to another country, found some work and were chatting up the local birds. But it seems you've retreated into the comfort of your own 'suffering' again. I've been there and done that and yeah sometimes it feels so good to feel so bad. But heck, maybe you're a 'poet' and great things will come of your lonely angst. Personally, I'd rather see you out and about hitting on the chicks. There's lots of good advice in this thread. Yours will, either 'as is' or with your consent to any of my editorial suggestions, be our centre piece for Valentines.

I have lifted a copy of it to my workspace and will just edit it as I feel like. As I recall, some of the flowers need a bit of a trim.

Then I can e-mail it to you (contact me from the link on my space) or just invite you to read it here somewhere and let you decide at your leisure which changes you might or might not want to make.
Should be lots of time before I come along and need to link to whatever final version you create for the Valentine's Day issue.

As for the girls, that is honestly my opinion, most girls don't have anything interesting to say. The same goes for a lot of guys though. However H2G2 seems to be filled with interesting people, so don't feel insulted.
