I once knew a bloke who swore he was at school with someone who bought a pint for the Duke of Edinburgh's valet in a pub in Balham on boat-race night. Though what he was doing in Balham at the time has never been adequately explained. And the b****r nver bought him one back.

Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row, anyone remember them?!) once sprayed beer over my t-shirt!
My fave though was smooching David Vanian & Captain Sensible (from The Damned, my all time fave band)
I got to grope Mr. Vanian's butt and the Captain told me I had the best boobs he'd ever seen!
Oh, and another time I also held Dave Vanian's hand while he was on stage singing "neat, neat, neat" He was wearing purple wooly gloves at the time. (strange)
Also, Katie Putrick (sp?) (her that used to do The Word, v. annoying) I sat behind her at a concert and she done a smelly botty burp. (to this day I'm convinced that smell came from her)

Hmm.... I slept with a girl who went on to sleep with Mike Malinin, the drummer for the Goo Goo Dolls. I also fooled around with someone who later had sex with Stevie, of Belle and Sebastian. Another ex-girlfriend received a marriage proposal from Martin Tielli, of the Rheostatics, but nobody's heard of them anyway.
On a more family oriented note, I hung out with three Breeders (not Kim Deal, the other three), after a concert, in a parking lot where they were waiting for a taxi that was late, and finally they agreed that if it didn't show up in 5 more minutes, they'd come back to my house for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but then the taxi arrived.
Oh, one more: my great-uncle Red, whom I never met, managed John Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign.

My Mum met the Soft Cell front-man in the veg dept. of the Supermarket in Stockport when they were big (Soft Cell that is, not Supermarkets!)
My fostered cousin's uncle is Richard O'Brien (Crystal Maze, etc.)
Toploader and Easyworld apparently both got together at my college in Eastbourne.
Errr...I think that's it for now.

Talking of Hills, on the photo taken at our wedding where we are cutting the cake, there is a photo of Graham Hill in the background.
(The wedding reception was held at the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket, which probably is worth some tenuous claim to fame in itself) There was no race meeting going on at the time!

I once got given a ride on Nick (Pink Floyd) Mason's shoulders at Silverstone race course. He was the friend of my best mates dad. I was five.
A friend of mine slept with the sister of a well-known singer from Lancashire who now lives in Ireland. I can't give any names obviously.
I was in a video that starred Roy Castle.

Oh yeah! I went to the same high school (decades later) as Steve Miller. The same math teacher used to yell at both of us.

I have an ex who used to go out with Ian Brown.
Not Ian Brown the singer, though. Is that tenuous enough?

There was a bloke in my class at school called Ian Brown. Not the singer or EV's ex's ex. He was Scottish if I remember correctly.

Just found out that the fellow who does the computers at my office has a longtime family friend who lives next door to John Cleese. That's pretty tenuous, wouldn't you say?
